No offense man, but anything is better than what you have. That thing looks like a homemade trailer and I have to agree with the others here that it doesn’t look safe. I sure wouldn’t want to pull it around. I get what everyone is saying, BUT you could find a smaller single axle trailer that’s a real trailer and make it work and be WAY ahead of what your dealing with there and not be $1500 in a trailer if that’s what your trying to do. You can find a used 10’ single axle well under $1k. I agree that you will outgrow it if you make the business work, but it would be way ahead of where you are now.
Hurry up and start washing some family homes and figure out if this is right for you.
Probably will save you some cash and time in the long run .
I’ll be looking for something better on CL
That’s the plan but I need to haul the equipment, before the end of the year I will know what’s up
Look for a 6.5 by 10’ single axle trailer with 3500lb axle. I ran one for years with a lot of stuff on it. Plenty to get started. Can buy a new one for $1100 so know you can find a decent used one for less. Once you go to duel axle, you’ll need trailer brakes and the weight of the trailer itself goes up, so with much on it will be straining the Tacoma. Here’s link I posted couple of years ago - Trailer build tips and an economical soft wash/roof system
Here you go Chris. Just got mine in yesterday. Beautiful work.
How much are they running? I’ve heard only good stuff about their skids. A granted, all on Facebook. I’m guessing ~3000ish?
Those look nice!
Well, don’t be a stingy tease …
Now let’s see it …
No offense, but have you taken that ugly turd of a trailer down the road at highway speeds yet loaded? Take it to a welding shop ,have a professional look @ it ,if you have no idea what the heck your looking at safety wise, then get it out of shop all dolled up and ready for the dance, then go make some friggin coin already, jeesh…It ain’t rocket science, but you damn well better have a safe trailer, if you don’t, your screwed before you scrub 1 square of vinyl. This ain’t no game bubby, you lose that trailer at HWY speeds, your done, and everyone around you is to. That’s why ppl on here are nicely saying to you, Pay attention…Your trailer is Sketchy dude. So get it looked @ …
This is what makes the most sense to me right now. But $1100 new? Used cheaper? I have to really look then because I haven’t seen that size trailer used for less than the price of it new…
I scrolled through a bunch of posts on their page. At least as of 3 months ago, their shortbed skids were $2800. Not sure about the long beds.
Had I:
- known about their skids last year
- had a good place (with forklift available) to store it over the winter, and
- known this would be my last winter doing snow removal…
I probably would’ve gone this route instead of doing the flatbed build.
Why you getting out of snow?
Too much stress and not enough profit at the level I’m operating. And I have no interest in going “all in” just to have more stress and even less freedom during the winter.
Why dont you look at some of the trailer builds on the site and take a picture of something you like to a local fab shop with the equipment you have and a budget you might be surprised what you can have built
Took it to a CAT scale 20 miles away unloaded no more than 55mph, not going to lie, I didn’t feel comfortable
Just trying to help dude. Glad you did that, Sorry I don’t have the sugar and spice filter like alot of ppl on here have, Kinda call it like I see it… @Dtejada
Your alright @Hotshot. I haven’t came across anyone in this community that has tried to steer me to the left. Even with power washers I’ve ran into around town, tons of advice and support.
That’s about it. I had them add a few items and deleted a few things
Looking forward to some pictures
