I cut some off my light bar lol
One last question just to make sure im right.
one side says bat and the other says aux. So i hook up my red positive wire comicoming from battery to the âbatâ bolt and then hook up another red positive wire to âauxâ going to pump and that fuse is done? Its fine to use on my 17 amp North star or should i hook up the 25 amp inline fuse to it?Yes, I believe so. Then just run your negative straight back to the battery.
Thats what i figured just wanted to make sure so i know if i should run separate fuses to each pump.
It comes down to wire size. The size of the wire depends on how many amps your equipment is. The fuse/breaker is dependent on the size of wire.
well thanks i learn something new everyday on here
I think I follow what youâre trying to say, but itâs coming across a little backwards. Your first consideration is the power draw of the appliance youâre running. That determines what size wire to run, and then what size fuse/breaker to use.
Also, the size wire == size breaker is more relevant in a residential setting, where you may be running several appliances on the same circuit with varying loads, and you donât want the cumulative load to surpass the safe limits of the gauge wire on that circuit.
When youâre dealing with a single appliance circuit, the relationship between appliance power requirements and breaker selection is more direct.
I thought thatâs what I was saying but you definitely cleared up any confusion. It mightâve helped if I started a second paragraph after the first sentence. The âIt comes down to wire sizeâ was commenting on his question to whether he should hook up his North Star pump to the same breaker.
Thanks Alex
Ok, gotcha. I misunderstood.
@Grizz, it should go without saying, but if youâre putting two pumps on the same fuse/breaker, donât try to run them at the same time
Its working good! Havenât tried to north star but im sure it will run great. Trying to grill steak and fill up sh. I did realize im going to need a on off switch. Im going to mount these on the side like racer. This isnt the same one at lowes but you get the idea.
Iâm glad you questioned it because you explain things much better than Iâll ever be able too. When it comes to electrical you donât want any confusion at all. You definitely made it easier to understand. It mightâve helped if I went into more detail when I said âit depends on the wire sizeâ. When I typed that I was just thinking that itâs fine to go with larger gauge wire then needed but you have to also go with a larger fuse/breaker. I guess thatâs good to point out too. Itâs fine to go with larger gauge wire than needed but not smaller. For fuses and breakers itâs fine to go smaller but not larger.
Thank you everyone. I thought id be pump up spraying or pulling my sealer/staining wagon around. This is my foot in the door at a big gated in neighborhood so i want to look professional and make a good impression. I might just do 15 around door hangers lol
I understood you. It was really common sense i just like to double check myself alot of times.
Or 50
Shoot i put out 750 in 3 days last year when i was a bucket bob and never got a call. They were also ridiculous and had about a essay in why you shouldnât use pressure to wash a house. Im going to take it easy and not cross that line of friendly contractor that know thier nieghbors to annoy solicitor that is breaking the no soliciting rule to try to make money
But believe me ill do atleast 10 on any job i get in that neighborhood its nothing but big money
I had finals this week so I took off 3 days. Paid my guy to pass out flyers for 28hrs. Over 5k. Got one call. No regrets lol. It works.
Im wanting to try eddms ive heard really good thing from a guy on here(cant mention name) but he says hes never lost money. I thinking of useing markates lead finder and just hitting those areas with eddm through the PO on my own. Markates alittle high i think.
Im sold your atleast the 5th guy to tell me this.
