Put your pump right next to the battery if possible and use the wire that came with your pump kit. The longer the run of wire the heavier guage you need.

You should be able to get the auto reset breaker at any auto parts store. As IBS mentioned you want a 25 amp for 10 gauge wire.

I would wire it like bubbad2u mentioned above with either a 25 amp fuse or the 25 amp auto reset circuit breaker.

Thanks everyone!

How about a 30?

30 amp would be used with 8 gauge wire. It’s okay to use a smaller fuse or breaker but you shouldn’t use a larger one. It probably won’t hurt just for tomorrow but I’d swap it out for the right one asap. If you go with too large of a fuse the wire or equipment turns into the weak link instead of the fuse or breaker.

You could just use a 25 amp fuse for tomorrow and get the auto reset breaker later.

Ill just get the inline fuse for now and order the other

Pressuretek recommends 30 amp fuse. 10 ga wire is rated to 30 amps. I was just transferring with my new pump today. Old one went bad, but the wiring hasn’t changed once in nearly 2 years and have never blown a fuse.

Since you’re gonna be messing with it, look into these 10GA quick connects. The pump will go bad before the wiring. May as well be able to swap the pumps out fast.

I got the normal 10 gauge yellow quick connects but they get loose eventually and you have to clamp them back down. So 30 amp? Im only 10 mins away i can turn around
Have you used it?

14-gauge wire: 15 amps
12-gauge wire: 20 amps
10-gauge wire: 30 amps
8-gauge wire: 40 amps
6-gauge wire: 55 amps
4-gauge wire: 70 amps
3-gauge wire: 85 amps
2-gauge wire: 95 amps

30 amp is what you want. Typically the green ones. Have I used what?

That’s standard for ac but dc has a little different ratings. With dc it doesn’t take much length before you have to go up a fuse size. I believe that’s why they have choices in increments of 5.

His run will be so short I’m sure it won’t make that big of a difference though.
