Roof Pump - Please tell me what I have wrong

Off topic question, but how do you like that ladder rack? And is that mounted on a trailer? I was looking for a ladder rack for my trailer and was looking at having one built but a buddy told me to look at one that looks very similar to that one. Sorry to derail your post, but had to ask.

Sure, Just got it. I picked it up off Amazon for 99 bucks. It is bolted thru the trailer rails. I only use it for carrying 2 ladders and I wrap the hose around it until I buy another reel. So far it works fine. The only thing I donā€™t like is the cross bars are held together by some Allen set screws, which donā€™t seem super great. I wouldnā€™t hang any reels from it or anything, but for a couple ladders I think it is good.

I have the same ladder racks. I liked them on my truck so I got another set for my trailer. I just keep a ladder and sc on them.

So did you ever narrow it down a specific problem? I just started having this same issue. I have 2 different pumps and Iā€™m blowing fuses with both of them. Iā€™m assuming my wiring is just worn out or something. Iā€™m going to replace it all tomorrow but was hoping you might have a specific solution.

It appears I had a bad pump. I redid everything as shown above and have cleaned 4 roofs, quite a few driveways and have been using the FB2 as a transfer pump. So far so good not so much as a blown fuse.

Okay. Thanks for the reply

Racer, would you be able to send the details and parts list for your set up shown here? Itā€™s very clean looking and looks solid. Iā€™m working on my 12V pump set up and could use some assistance. Thanks for your time! Mike

My Delavan 7 gpm keeps blowing a fuse. Im using the wiring kit from tractor supply but im not sure if it able to handle the big Delavan. The wire gauge is alot bigger on the 7gpm than the wiring harness but i didnt think that would matter because they are both for 12 volt.

Just blew on my 5.5 North star too. i need this working for tomorrow to do a deck and post treat a drive.

20 gauge wire 15amp battery clip and 7amp fuse ? guess my wire and fuse are to small for the 7 gpm i would think they would all come with wiring kits i guess i need to special order

Im not finding a wiring harness with 10 gauge wires and alligator clips :thinking:.
Anyone know a site or a link to get them.

How many amps is your pump?

Hold on ill go looks

Canā€™t you use an oversized fuse for 1 day till you figure out the problem.

Yea, I had tons of blown fuses. I went to HD and bought I think 10ga wire.
Ran from the battery to a light switch in a waterproof box, straight to the pump. I havenā€™t had any problems since. I also bought battery terminals to get good connects at the battery. I am happy to send you some pictures if that would help

25 amp. Get a self resetting circuit breaker instead of fuse. If you donā€™t have the an accumulator, donā€™t flow with trigger or ball valve half open

I have a accumulater it blows as soon as i turn the ball valve off. Tractor supply sells 12 gauge wite but its WAY over priced. Im headed to walmart to look at speaker wire

Speaker wire? I thought you were working on your roof pump. Kids today have no focus
