Still waiting on the custom water tank, huh? I’d be spitting mad by now… :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Nice.

Hey how did you fasten those straps to the wood, screw into our bolt through?

I used d ring clips. The d ring mounts are screwed with LARGE screws on the gas tank. The SH tank has the same D rings but they are bolted. Do not want to chance that hazmat scene lol

Old lawn mower blades cut into thirds make great washers for the bottom side of the bolts.

In all reality the SH tank should have metal straps. The ones on it now are not cheap ones and are rated way higher than they need to be. But I will eventually be trading them out for metal bands.

Put some good rubber under the skid. Vibration is the death of a pump. The key in the switch bouncing like crazy means you need some absorption. Nice set up. What is holding up the platforms

I doubled up on the rubber. I have rubber absorbers between the motor and the rails and rubber between the rails and the skid.

The skid is an all welded tube frame. Basically a big table so my 200 gallon buffer tank will fit under it. I was going to do the top in diamond plate aluminum but the local shop wanted $400 a sheet! Top is 3/4 treated plywood.

Change that oil early and often and she will run like a champ! We put one in a friend’s golf cart last year and it’s running strong. First oil change had a ton of shavings!!!

I just ran it on half throttle for 2 hours with mobile 1 full synthetic. Going to change the oil and run it with the pump for 8 hours then change again. At that point I’ll regularly change the oil.

Half throttle is the death of an air cooled machine. WOT always

I didn’t know that! I went by the instructions. It did say that break in should be with nothing mounted too it. It had tons of air pulling across the motor. And it’s pretty cool here.

Are you going to listen to what engineers with degrees who have dedicated their life to their chosen profession tell you in much reviewed instructions or a guy in overalls from NC who thinks he knows everything? But really, search WOT and air cooled engines.
