That was me when I was trying to figure out why you would run that hydraulic adapter on your hose reel swivel. Why didn’t you just use a 1/2" x 3/8" brass hex bushing there?
Use a hose with a swivel built into the end and you can avoid that thingy
I think he wanted a swivel on both sides???
I went most of last season listening to that advice and it’s one time I wish I wouldn’t have listened. I finally broke down and purchased a Mosmatic swivel and it makes a huge difference compared to the crappy built in swivels. I’ll never again not use one.
If only I could afford one
That’s a good question with a long answer lol. It started with my DS bypass, I wanted female QCs on both sides so I could ditch it and replace it quickly with my backup. That made me flip the 6’ whip on the outlet of the DS so that the female was headed towards my hose reel (I had limited SS fittings and a job to do before I could get more shipped).
If you look closely, the side of the whip at the hose reel is swiveled already, but it’s female. So there’s actually a short nipple between that fitting and the only Stainless Steel reducer I could find, which happened to be a 1/2 x 3/8 swivel at Tractor Supply. My hose reel has a double swivel at the inlet, only because I wanted SS and needed it in operation immediately
I’ve had good luck, but then again, I’m used to what I know and not big on trying new things. If I got a mosmatic and it was great, then I would be upset with 20 years without them. Kinda why I don’t golf or watch sports. What if I found out I liked it?
I’m gonna mail you one…lol
Put it inside of a remote box before you send it
Mail me one while your at it @marinegrunt
Gotcha, you don’t see short jump hoses with a female pipe fittings very often and if you do it’s likely JIC. I hate using those close nipples since they are one time use. I don’t use anything but hex nipples.
Nothing better than a stainless JIC fitting.
Fixed
That’s goes without saying lol.
If you can get two days read time within two weeks I will mail you one. If you need some good keywords to search for just ask. It also helps to just start browsing old threads and, if you see a word or term that you don’t know, write it down and then search for it on the forum. Read through the results and repeat. You’ll learn a ton and you’ll get a free Mosmatic Swivel out of it. Well, only if you hit two days read time within 2 weeks. Let me know what day you want to start the clock. Actually, I’ll give you a choice. A jrod with tips or a Mosmatic swivel. A Mosmatic swivel isn’t a necessity. It just makes hose management easier. You’re the youngest I’ve seen on the forum so want to see you succeed.
If you hit the 2 days read time in two weeks like @marinegrunt said @Field l’ll also send you a pump sprayer or something else you need of equal value as well. Keep at it!
@marinegrunt @TexasPressureWashing This is a healthy use of the forum. I’ll back the same thing, here we have a 15-year-old entrepreneur wanting to learn a trade and start a business. That’s the future and I applaud it! Same deal, 2 weeks/2 days read time and I’ll send a Stuttner 2305 or equivalent gift card to WCRA store
I appreciate all of y’all I’ll get to reading
