New Hose Supplier

I’ll have to get a 100 ft spare hose from BCE and give it a go. I’m not fond of the blue color hose.

They hold up well but the blue hose with hot water can leave marks, at least with my experience. I don’t know if they have gray, haven’t ordered in a bit. But will go to gray from here out, other than that great hoses longevity wise…

@racer are you using 1 or 2 wire from BCE?

One wire. I’m too old to be messing with pulling around 2 wire.

I’ve never had a single mark on concrete using the blue hose. The only time I’ve ever left a mark, and this was just once, about a year ago, was when I was pulling it around a white column on a porch and it got hung. Left a tiny blue scuff mark, that wiped right off.

I noticed last summer here and there leaving blue marks, of course I use 170-180 heat, or maybe that combined with hot concrete from summer sun? If we walked on the hose it would transfer too and have had what you encountered with scuffs on a railing. Not horrible but I’ll try to go with gray next time.

I believe they all transfer some, the gray is probably really hard to spot. My yellow suttner does some transfer, but again its hard to spot, and just easily rinse or blow away by wind.

That’s why I go grey. I don’t want to create apparent blue, yellow, green, whatever marks and have to spend time cleaning it up. So if they grey hose leaves a mark let’s say but I can’t see it because the color matches the concrete so well, then I know the customer can’t see it. The amount of times I’ve pointed things out to customers about their home they never knew about or saw before, I could be a home inspector lol

Hey guys! Any more long-term feedback on the Hose Company Hydrauli-Flex 1 wire hose? Looking to buy something today.

Thanks!

I took Racer’s recommendation and bought the blue 4k hose from BCE last week and like it so much I’ve started buying more of my supplies from them. BTW, I saw a Valley Industries Electric Hose Reel on the BCE website for $395 and bought that sucker up. When they delivered the manual model, I sent an email. Before I could even tell them that I knew it had to be a mistake, they had already ordered my replacement. I got a call from the owner this morning who told me that VI had agreed to sell him an electric reel for what I paid for the manual one because they had furnished the bad info on the BCE website. Now THAT’S STANDUP! I suspect I’ll spend as much as possible with BCE in the future.

Panhandle gets my vote. This is my first time ordering from them, but my initial impressions are very positive. They seem really professional and organized. Extremely prompt in processing my order, and have been very communicative about the delays with the new shipment of single wire hose.

(In other news, I’m never ordering from 72hrprint again. What a joke.)

What happened at 72hr print . I get all my stuff from them . Partially because there 5 minutes away but I’m still curious

I jumped on their march madness sale. 50 signs plus stakes for $300, shipped.

I knew it might take a little while, but it was well over a month to receive the signs. They had some guys out with covid. Ok, I get that. But at least tell me what’s taking so long.

I wanted to substitute 25 hd stakes for the 50 standard stakes. That completely stumped their sales staff. They finally agreed to it, for an additional $62.50. They apparently need to update their pricelist online or something, ‘cause by my math, subtracting 50 stakes @ 99¢ and adding 25 @ $2.50 comes out to ~$13. Oh well, not a big deal.

The signs finally arrived the other day. No stakes. Emailed twice over the course of 4 days, called this morning. No response. Took a look online to see they shipped out from the wholesaler yesterday. Why in the world did they wait until after my signs arrived, to even initiate drop shipping the stakes from the distributor? I paid for them over a month ago.

Final nail in the coffin, though: I’m completely underwhelmed by the print quality; very poor color saturation. I’ll post a pic when I get a chance. Also got a small rectangular aluminum sign for the back of the truck. Equally unimpressive print quality. I’ve ordered signs from other companies, so I have something to compare with.

I guess being able to knock on there door and look over there shoulder might be the difference because I’ve never had and serious issues. When they switched to making there own shirts I had a problem with there stitching but they fixed it quickly.

Okay. I love the hose company hose but… the casing is just too soft. Says it is good up to 311 degrees but after running 140 degrees for degreasing a parking lot, the hose ends just keeps slipping off due to the casing melting… then even using it cold water, it popped off. And I quick repaired with the field fittings, cut off the ends when one slips off, screwed on the field fitting but then only after about an hour or so the field fitting slips right off and I have to cut and repair again… just tired of it. Any other recommendations for hose that are good with heat?

I stopped using it beginning of the season. Seemed like good hose but it’s not that great. I tried some cheap hose that costs a $1 foot and got 3 months out of the first 100’ section. Gonna try the Kevlar hose next but it’s not cheap. Has a 1 year warranty through the manufacturer tho.

I want to try it but it’s no use to me if you have to pull all of it off the reel.

I’m Going to try Goodyear Neptune 1 wire

I love my Neptune. It gets some gouges if you’re rolling it up on concrete/rocks, but it’s been great hose

My Goodyear Neptune has been amazing but now I believe continental has bought out the Neptune brand and I’ve heard the quality has gone down some but the price stayed nice and high. Are you able to find the goodyear stuff still?

I mean I can find it. Most suppliers sell it.
