My dad bought a cleaning company off his brother-in-law back in the eighties. His BIL moved to KY and opened a new business under the same name. I bet it’s more common than you realize.

Also buying a company I would be very clear on if there is to be a non-compete and if not that the previous owner not use the same or similar name. A company’s reputation is too important.

I have no idea how his company is structured. But from a technical & legal standpoint, it could be completely true.
How many companies do you know that have been in business 50+ years, are being operated by the original owner(s)?
The largest cleaning company in my town was established in 1930-something. I think they’re on their 3rd or 4th set of owners.
Edit: I looked up the business entities on the Georgia and Maryland websites, and they are registered under the same name. So nothing dishonest with saying they’ve been in business 40 years. It’s all the dad’s company, at least on paper.
God I hope not lol.

When you say name do you mean company name or owner name? If the latter it conceptionally is the same company. If the former they are legally separate companies. In either case if they are misleading their perspective customers it’s dishonest in my book. YMMV.

Yeah, I’m enjoying it. Probably a little too much. The biz is one of my Asperger’s “special interests”. For a long while, it was probably my only special interest, which wasn’t all that healthy, but got us to where we are now.

Yes i worded it thinking he knew that i know he doesn’t do a bad job at what he is paid to clean but i got alittle heated when i was called names.
Not trying to derail this agian just want to clarify i wasn’t calling IBS a hack job or something. Its easy to come off the wrong way in text form. Anyways back to the RV. Im taking my delusional, arrogant , short memoried butt to sleep.
