Kevlar hose, opinions?

FYI, this morning one of their reps posted on another forum I’m on, and I also just got an email from their CS dept. COVID affected them getting product made, but allegedly there should be plenty of places to purchase it from this Fall.

Available in black, and grey non-marking, in 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, & 1/2, in rolls from 25’-300’. The 300’ rolls won’t have fittings on them.

That’s awesome. Tell ‘em they also need to do a run of lime/neon green. It should be considered a safety feature :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Good to hear, hopefully my wire hose lasts till then.

Which forum? I’d like to talk to the rep and get some info. I just put some in service today and I love it already. I’m about to buy two more 200’ rolls of it so I can have it for future use, but I’ll wait until fall to get some gray non-marking if that’s legit.

What all do you love about it?

It’s light, flexible, and the fittings are the same as the ones on the Goodyear Neptune I’ve always bought up to now. I actually felt like I had a cordless trigger gun today, no kidding.

Do you have a flow sensing unloader or pressure trapping? If it is the flow sensing, do you have any issues with bird nesting? Have you tried using it only partially unrolled off the reel?

Mine is pressure trapping. I only use my reel for storage, the hose is not plumbed through it, so I’ve had no issues with bird nesting.

How far are you from Rural Hall. I’ll be there week after next working and want to see this hose.

I’m over two hours from there. I’ll be in Charlotte for a fire conference in November though, and I’ll be glad to bring you a length of it so you can try it out and you can send it back to me later. If you’re gonna be anywhere near Asheville, let me know and I’ll bring it to you.

Let me look over the schedule. I know I have properties in Asheville in Nov, and something in Charlotte before then. I have emailed the company numerous times and gotten no replies

It was on Garage Journal. Here’s the thread: BluShield - Kevlar-braided Pressure Washer Hose - Beta Testers! | The Garage Journal

Speaking of non-marking, Tool Outfitters (from the link you posted a week ago) shows as having non-marking in stock. Search results for "BluShield Rubber Pressure Washer Hose" - ToolOutfitters.com - Professional Automotive Tools & Equipment

Very tempting. I need 3 x 200’ hoses now. One to replace my original hose, one for a new rig, and one as backup.

Thank you!

If you end up ordering some from Tool Outfitters, let us know how it is when you get it. Over on Garage Journal back in 2018 when they started beta-testing it several guys mentioned that the threaded fittings were very low quality, and their rep addressed it. I’m interested to know if they’ve made improvements in them.

Is that the only place anyone knows where to buy it from?

That’s who I got it from. Everything about it is fine. It has the same fittings that my Goodyear Neptune has.

That’s the only place I could find it. I ordered 400 more feet of it Saturday before I saw @CPB post the link for non-marking. I emailed them to see if I could adjust the order. For the record, the black hose hasn’t left a mark on anything yet.

Maybe it’s been answered and I missed it. Can you leave hose on the reel or does it all have to be pulled off?

Some have reported bird-nesting
