thanks id appreciate it. on the other end is this which is the only but I’m seeing. Not seeing another or a double to add more space so what I did was loosen the 4 bolts below pump like you said, then gave the main bigger nut a couple turns and then tightened the 4 underneath the pump back up.
I DID use a wrench to hold up top while loosening them down below

I got a 26ft boat with a new(ish) outboard on it. All sorts of fishing/exploring to be had. Id say my sense of humor is a plus but thats debatable

Plenty of dungeoness crab about 15 mins away. The big king crab is about an hour out. My goal is to get a big boy crab pot puller this year but we’ll see how I’m doing with business because I kind of have to make some money after spending all of it this winter on upgrades

I might not be the best choice for that particular way to exit stage right. I’ve worked maritime in southeast Alaska for 17 years now and ran boats as Captain for a fair chunk of that. I had always planned on upgrading my licenses and progressing further in my career until I found out how much money I could make doing this. . Ive had 3 career changes so far. Computer security to maritime, to this. Life is funny sometimes.

Status update. Every fudging connection just about is leaking. From my hannay reel inlet to the pressure washer jump hose to reel to the dang injector etc etc.
I need to limp on one more job tomorrow and then I’m pulling off every gosh darn connection I have and using blue monster tape and blue monster pipe dope on EVERYTHING. I tried tru blue and the standard white tape and boy howdy…it ain’t working.

Are the fittings getting hot to the touch after you wrench them down? I’ve seen more than a few people on YouTube going for broke when it comes to tightening down fittings. I saw one guy bottom out an NPT fitting. The friction heats the teflon beyond its rating and it fails, you can spread the female end so much you can put a hairline crack it. Snug it down that’s it. If it leaks after that it’s just going to be a few beads and you can turn it just a bit more. Don’t go crazy!
If using stainless steel fittings, I’ve been experimenting with different thread sealants and, so far, blue loctite has been holding up very well. Haven’t ran hot water yet this season though but I don’t think you have hot water yet. I loctited a new DSI bypass and not a single drip from that thing and there are like eleventy connections on one of those things lol
Regular old white thread dope has always worked great for me. Or gray tape works good.
That’s what I’m using normally. No probs with hot water.
That’s good to hear. I figured it would probably be okay but hadn’t personally tried it yet.
Man, I gave Bob so much grief over the reel he gave me to try because it had blue locktite on an the fittings… I had to completely disassemble it and put it back together with tef tape before I mounted it. Don’t do that to your crews. You need a torch to break that stuff down and it doesn’t work any better that tef tape.
