Hydro Max DC Series

Bypass you just need to be cautious. If I had employees I wouldn’t do it. Single operators, I see no issues, but could if you totally forgot. So…

Probably right on this. On my order I’m having a rain shield over the burner exhaust welded on and the unloader swapped for a ZK1. I’m excited either way :+1:

I bought my unit from them, they didn’t want to do any modifications. So…mine runs great though.

I was able to get the ZK1 trade out and the rain shield welded free of charge, that was nice

I’m happy for ya, you’ll love it.

That’s cool, they were pretty nice to deal with. I’ve seen the rain guards on some of their units in the past, so that’s something I’m sure they do time to time. Unloader easy to make the change on it. Z1 a little higher in price then the standard they put on there. So good no extra charge for you.

Delivery is great too since I’ll be picking it up from the freight terminal just down the road from me. They load it on the trailer for you which helps me tremendously. That’s a way to avoid the residential or commercial delivery cost completely. Since they will be putting it on the trailer it’s being bolted to, just makes my life easier :+1:

LOL, they just didn’t want to do the bypass. I’ve never seen a burner on a pw that would cut on unless water was running thru it. When I’m cleaning with heat, I’m not on the trigger the whole time. If the water quits flowing, the burner shuts off maybe it’s done by the heat sensor, either way that’s a bs answer. When I’m at the truck and cut mine on, it doesn’t start until I get to where I’m going and open the ball valve.

Randy was beating around the bush a lot. What allows the burners to go on is the pressure switch and I guess he didn’t wanna mess with that. He included the word illegal in the conversation when talking about the bypass and I’m not sure what he was referencing that was illegal but he really did not want to mess with it LOL

I’ve accidently hit my on switch several times, but I always turn my thermostat to 0, just for that reason. Either way, if no water flowing, it shouldn’t come on. Easy enough to do your own bypass. Everyone I know that has a separate hotbox bypasses it when they’re not using it.

I like, may the building begin!

I’m pretty sure Randy doesn’t do any of the fabrication and there isn’t very good communication between sales and the shop apparently.

When I ordered my machine I specifically requested that the inlet for the pump be a3/4 npt by "1 brass barb to hook it directly to my buffer tank via 1-in hose.

When I got it, the inlet was some cobbled together galvanized crap with a 3/4 T fitting and a plastic 3/4 barb on one side, and the unloader outlet was run back to the pump inlet using a brass 90° barb screwed into a galvanized 3/4 to 3/8 reducer on the other opening in the T fitting.

The 3/4 galvanized T was so large I couldn’t take it off without removing the belt guard which was a PITA. When I called and talked to somebody in the service department about it, he was surprised that they had used a galvanized fitting screwed into the pump head, but really offered no other explanation or help.

Best to just do the small custom work ourselves

Yeah, I used to think that way when I was younger and time seemed like it would go on forever. Now when I order something and ask for it to be a specific way I expect it to be that way when I get it, not to have to waste a bunch of time undoing their work and then redoing it the way that I asked for it to begin with.

They put a poly nipple on my inlet with 3/4” plumbing, I had to redo it from the pump back. They did refund me some money though so I could care for it because I had to buy supplies to fix it.

Racer, The burner is triggered by the pressure switch.

The burner won’t turn on without it feeling the water pressure through the switch. Randy didn’t wanna bypass the area because I’m assuming I order for it to work properly with that type of burner, it would have been a real pain in the butt

Correct, but the pressure switch is before the burner… Usually mounted on the pump or unloader.

If the burner was by passed and by accident someone turned the burner switch on, It would be a disaster.

That’s why he was a no go with it lol
