The threads move and for a bit it seems like they’re catching and it’s hard to twist but then it feels like it slips and like I’m twisting air.
The sheave needs to come towards the wrench to tighten,yes?

No. It wiggles up and down maybe a millimeter.
It loosened up just fine.
Same belts,same exact size sheaves?
Yep. Nothing changed except the engine.
Stupid question. But are they reverse thread’s by any chance?
I don’t think so. I tried both ways though and nothing happened.
Will that bolt come out ,that you have you’re socket hooked to?
If so,can you take a pic of the threaded end

I put a board and a scissor jack to get the pump pushed out enough to not need 10 hands to tighten it down. Your probably just out of reach enough for the threads to catch and release.
It definitely won’t come out. I’ve called it a night for now I’ve already had too many beers to get back to work. Thanks though I’ll give you a call tomorrow.

I’m thinking the same thing. Might need a lil longer bolt or all thread with nut. Something has changed a little tiny bit.

Spent the last hour digging up all the pics and vids I could find on it. You’re missing half the tensioner, it must have vibrated out or it was misplaced and never made it back on. They call it Hydro Tek’s EZ Align belt tensioner. The carriage bolt needs to be run the opposite direction which provides the stand off for the custom hex rod the tensioner bolt pushes off of. Just tension it another way.
I realize the pump frame in the pic is not exactly like yours but they used that style of tensioner all over the place. This video shows it well also but it’s of poor quality but you can make it out pretty good.
