Google ad words

I had Pipeline run mine for about 9 months. I think how well you do with them is contingent on your demographics and how many other companies are advertising. I dropped them in January because I was spending over $500 a month in ads and getting absolutely zero return for about 5 months straight. That’s not much for some, but when you’re not getting any roi on your paid advertising, it hurts. Reworked my website myself, changed my search titles, and I have yet to pay for advertising this year. Already made in 2 months almost what I made all year last year. About to finally crank up marketing again, because I’ve finally found a good employee, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to handle the work load ads would bring in. Not to say Mr. Pipeline isn’t good, just don’t make the mistake I made of having it come out of a credit card, instead of your business account, at least starting out. CC makes it too easy to turn a blind eye to something that isn’t a good investment, and that will snowball in a hurry. Coming out of your business account keeps it real, if you know what I mean. If you can’t afford it, don’t do it.

Ive only been in business for a month now so just about everything im doing is out of pocket and not business account. Im just trying to make the right decisions.

@SchertzServicesLLC i am going to run a ad in my local paper just to see if it works at all. Im in a fairly small town but from what im getting from markates lead finder is about 2394 leads right up my alley. Its worth a shot. Any pointers, tips or tricks would be great. Also did you make your own Ad design or have someone else do it say fivvr for example. Being a small town i want to keep it fun, friendly and trustworthy.

That depends what kind of ad you are able to run. Some papers have a “here’s my card” section that runs a couple times a month. It’s basically just your business card on a page.

Does the paper have a daily column where it’s a cheap place to run stuff daily?

I pay $80 some a month and it runs 24 days I think. So 24 different days and papers have the ad in it.

Talk with the paper company. Be honest and tell them you are on a budget. I ran a 1 time ad in the local paper that was pretty big. Not one call! But the daily running works.

They can likely design an ad for you free of charge. I just gave them my logo and they designed it. The other one that I ran as a 1 time deal I just emailed them my business card img.

You’re confusing CPC with CPA (cost per acquisition) If you get 10% of the people who click on your ad that would be would be $400 acquisition cost. Not a great deal.

where are you located?

Lol, elaborate when you have more info. I’m genuinely interested as I’m doing SEO and ads with them.

I just started tinkering with adwords in March. Our cost per click is about $12. The return seems great but this month (started May 5th) it has been terrible. The “learning” on it is bad and the metrics Google reports are not accurate making it tough to prune phrases.

I don’t remember which thread said AW Express is junk, but it is. If only I had more time to learn regular Ad words…

Here’s a video that a buddy of mine streamed on facebook. I’m digesting it in small bites because it’s difficult for me to understand but you guys might want to check it out. I don’t think I’m quite at the point where I can pay for clicks yet.

@Grizz how are you tracking metrics? I’m getting a huge increase in calls and contact forms via website. The only way I can tell is ask the customer? If the increase is from google ads it’s a huge success

Im using the free trail of call rail for a separate number for my site. I like it because i know when to answer the phone professionally.

The only problem i have with mr. Pipeline is they billed me 2 times in one month for hosting and billed me for adwords campaign 2 weeks after i had just paid for it. The first time the they said it was a system error and the second time they said it was a mistake with there automated system. Also when i asked to see my negative ads words list. She went into a whole spill about this is the first campaign and they needed to run it very broadly to optimize it slowly over time. I ask them why because they are already doing multiple other guys in my area that they should already know what getting the best results and she said everyone is different… All this just comes off to me is trying to get the most money possible while doing as little work as possible. I could be very wrong but rick and some other guys are telling me that we could be get way more bang for our buck by someone who is actually taking the time to do it the right way and that our $7 cpc is about twice as high as theirs running the same ads in the same area with the right negative ad words. Im going to call tomorrow and get them to send me the list because when i showed rick on the list on the app he said it was ridiculous.

I will say everyone there is nice and friendly but i honestly thought i would be getting alot more for 2 grand.

Im having a guy make me up one on fivvr. I sent him this one to give him some ideas

Any tips or tricks that you care to share on paper ads would be great. Im trying to build up some local customers and so far my marketing tactics are adwords and five arounds. Im thinking of doing HA but im not sure if it will do any good in my area.

On an average. I know its tough to get an average. But how much do you guys spend on marketing each year ?

I dont understand facebook at all… I only have like 20 friends on there so far and thats just family and like 2 customers. I dont know how to link my face book business to be able to share it. Do you have to be friends with someone for them to see you ads? Or should i do that boost your page option and just keep posting on it before and afters on jobs i just finished?

My i need to watch so.e YouTube vids about how to work facebook:joy::joy:

That may be big and hard to read in a small ad!

I think that looks awesome man,I m diggin the coupons on the sides an the before and afters are really popping

It’s easy! Yes you need to do a paid boost. Booked 2 jobs already this morning from fb boost.

I have a dedicated number but I’m doing several forms of advertising and not sure what’s coming from the ads campaign.

Don’t underestimate eddm and Craigslist. Diversity wins

When I first started I put 50% of profit back to advertising. Now it’s at about 10%. I’m
Spending about 1,100 a month.
