Clothing Impervious to SH

@marinegrunt said his shirts lasted a full season with no issues.

Do you have to order a minimum amount of shirts from Queesboro?

They have very low minimums for embroidery. Embroidery isn’t like screen printing, in that regard.

Why’d you go with a collar? Any particular reason?

Just personal preference. I did get a few performance tees with my last order.

I like the professional look of the polo. @Infinity what style or brand is that from Queensboro? Is it see through?

It’s by Port Authority. I’ve tried other brands and wasn’t impressed. It’s very lightweight, and I usually wear an undershirt with it except for on the hottest days. I don’t think I’d call it quite ‘see-through’. I just don’t like my nips to be showing :joy:

I sign up for the queensboro email newsletter and wait for the 50% off sales they do a couple times a year.

Quick laundry tip: make sure and wash your polyester shirts in cold water. Hot water will “set” stains permanently.

How does this work.

I’m not really sure. My best guess is that hot water sort of ‘melts’ the grime into the fibers. I just know that I ended up with some very permanent stains when my wife accidentally used hot water years back.

After some further googling, it appears that using high heat in the dryer might’ve been the actual culprit. But I will continue to wash in cold water, since it seems to do a good job.

The dryer makes sense. I generally always use the warm setting. I’ve had a few things shrink with hot water.

We buy whatever 100% poly activewear shirts our local screen printing company has. I think A4 is the brand. We use light grey in the summer and navy in the winter, and the hold up well. The grey gets dirt stains, but it is what it is. For shorts/pants we use 100% poly golf shorts/pants. They hold up the best and are affordable.

I’ll tell you why I go with collars: I want to distance myself and my crew from the splash and dashers who proliferate our industry. It’s sort of like IBM requiring white shirts as part of their uniforms. I believe that our uniforms win us business based on the prospect’s perception of a higher level of professionalism.

So I got cocky and decided to forgo rinsing after a good full strength splash. So as good as these chemical resistant pants are, I discovered that one MUST rinse with water to dilute the bleach or these pants will bleach out. STIL, all in all the best work pant I’ve ever owned for fit AND durability.

It’s probably fair to say that some of the most crooked people to walk the earth wear collars for there “primary” image. Agree?

I like queensboro. Never had anything bleach out on them. I bought some hoodies from fin print and they bleached out first roof I did. I think it was just the gray color as the rest has held up. Not a huge fan of the racing type look.

Me neither. Why do I want to look like I’m on a fishing team?

We use screenprinted Gildan G420 t shirts in a light blue color, it is crazy how good they are. Pure SH has no effect on them and they can be covered in mud or anything else and they will clean right back up. We have a new order being made right now by a local printer but the ones we’ve been wearing have about 18 months on them and still look good. No luck on a hoodie though.

I use the gildan in the ugly safety yellow/chartreuse color, and bleach seems to have no effect on them at all. I tried bright blue, and neon green and they bleached our really bad, first use. I have no idea why the yellow is different, and I HATE the color, but it stands out and doesn’t bleach at all, even with 12.5.

SLAMMED! All this time I’ve been proud of my uniform and my #1 mentor describes it as a fishing team outfit. My whole weekend has been ruined, Thanks a lot, Rick
