Here’s how I switch from spring to summer. I’m not big on fancy apparel.
I wear Nike Dri fit shorts and shirts, SH no problem
I have to say those Swiss Tech shirts are pretty impressive! They hold up well, have airflow and don’t wrinkle when taking out of the dryer.
I have to pour my SH from a 5 gallon pail into our 65 gallon roof tank mix and the undiluted SH splashes back on my clothes and ruins them, even though they are 100% polyester. Any ideas on how to get around this?
Will Black 100% polyester clothes do better than Red 100% polyester?
Use a pump to transfer the bleach. I wear rain suits too as bleach is bad for your skin.
Yeah, don’t pour SH in a way that it splashes back. Use a pump or air displacement system to transfer your bleach.
5 gallon Culligan water bottle with bottom cut out makes perfect funnel. You can dump a square pail in with no leaks or splashing
I’m toast then. I get covered in bleach all the time and have for years. You need tougher skin. Every house I do has porches and if not that then the wind is always blowing.
I haven’t found anything that will stand up to undiluted SH very well. As mentioned, find a better transfer method.
I use one of my road cones lol
We go though t shirts like toilet paper I have all kinds of spotted FF4H t shirts I finally gave up and went to all white I like the gildan dry blend
I used to wear white shirts but wipe your dirty hand on them once and you look like a homeless person. I have heather gray triblend shirts that don’t look bleached when hit with downstream strength. When straight 12.5 gets on it though it eats some of the fibers Looks like blood. Over all I’m happy with them.
Black is really good, and Red Kap makes black 60/40 pants that hold up really well

Those store brand ‘activewear’ shirts seem to work well, I’m fond of the safety yellow.
Queensboro polos with white logo has worked great
Here they are. I spilled some 12 1/2% on them yesterday and just pulled them out of the drier. I washed two pair, and neither show any signs of fading or bleach. I’ve probably washed them about 20 -30 times.
I also have a gray pair that doesn’t hold up nearly so good with subtle bleaching.
I doubt if I will ever buy another pant for work. These things are comfortable AND tough.
Reviving an old thread, Nylon pants finally got a harsh splash of SH and melted it where it splashed, causing staining and the fabric to tighten around the stain. My new blue poly shirt got a fat drop of house wash mix on it and caused a pink stain. I’ve read the other clothes posts from 2-3 years ago, what’s everybody wearing now ?
They are pricy but those shirts look awesome. Not sure how well they hold up to bleach though, they are 100% poly but, polyester seems to still get hit hard
You got something low quality. Polyester is basically a plastic, like the vinyl siding we wash. It should be colored all the way through the fibers. If it turned pink, it was either colored incorrectly, or was blended with other fibers.
The 100% poly shirts I get from Queensboro have never bleached out, and they use polyester thread for the embroidery, as well.
I also like their Ogio Endurance Apex caps. I learned that the black will lighten eventually if you wash them with oxyclean. But they hold up well to pretty much everything else.
