I figured out that those little nozzles have a standard machine thread (6-32 or 8-32, IIRC). So presumably you could tap a thread into the end of a standard GP hi-draw, and get the best of both worlds.
My SS injector has been finicky, I’ll hit the button and it comes out weak for about a minute then hits hard. Other times it’s full strength from the start.
About that blown o-ring issue, I also have mine clamped as I discovered it was sucking air around the blue barb. Guess I’d better take the clamp off?
Dropped a 2.1 gp today. 21-1. Uggh. Replaced nozzle in blue tip to the grey tip nozzle and pulled 19-1 which was a little better. Wth
You are special lol
Try using the gun with no tip or even just out the hose end and rule those other variables out
Squeaky wheel
IB. I have plenty of grease. What’s the squeaky wheel? The bypass? I tried with my injector on the straight. Why the riddles? I just need help at this point after the old college try failed.
I have a 60 soap nozzle coming but I will with try a test with no nozzles. Is this the last thing I can try?
*Whooooosh
Squeaky wheel gets the grease in reference to how I got the stainless barbs. You know that 2.1 injector is in reference to the size, not the ratio it pulls? Don’t worry about what your injector is pulling. If it is getting the siding cleaned, the ratios are minutiae.
Squeaky wheel is a saying I tell my kids all the time. I gotcha now. Nothing ventured nothing gained is another good one. At this point I know that I don’t know what I think I know.
I was hitting wall with .56 bleach and couldn’t get Black and dark green off in one shot. so it wasn’t cleaning. At .62 today it did clean light green. Wasn’t anything tough to wash today. I am going to ditch the bypass and try a test like that too as per your advice. Ty
That’s some precise measurements there. I’m still batch mixing for a days worth of cleaning at a time and I am nowhere near that level of certainty to say my percentage is exactly … to two numbers behind the decimal. I tell any clients who ask about potential plants being harmed that I wash with no more than 1% SH hitting the house but that it’s usually closer to .7 or .8 and that all landscape is pre-wet and re-wet after house rinse. But kudos to you (and anyone else) for being that diligent on knowing your numbers!
Stop it with these fancy numbers people are going to think washing homes is hard. The only numbers you ever need to know is 1% 3% and 6% anything in between is psychological and a waste of your time.
Hey fellas. (and maybe some ladies now) I’m replying because I’m legitimately weeks if not a month behind on my calls and messages. I think MSM is probably Mike who has messaged a couple times. I’m trying to get my admin stuff ironed out with a new “office” manager so hopefully I have some more free time.
And I saw William called! Thanks buddy! We’ve been drowning. Trying to build out two new machines in a van on top of running 3 machines in separate places most days. I’m still washing, admin, human resources, marketing, customer service, etc all while trying to wash 40+ hours a week. And you’ll like this, I went back to welding school at night in the spring thinking things would be a slow build up to May. Nope. March 1st we hit the ground running. 16 hours of school, 40+ washing, who knows how long on everything else. If the weather is a bummer we’re inside cleaning windows or fixing/building the things we need so we’re not too far behind.
I need to call to catch up for sure, but to talk to you about apartment complexes. They seem to take twice as long as they should for us.
Anyway, I’ve seen countless replies come through about these injectors. I have no idea why people are having so many issues with them. We’ve had a couple issues, maybe 7 times in 2+ years of using these things. So, unfortunately, I can’t be much help. The only thing we probably do different is buy the rebuild kits, not even new injectors from Dultmeier. You save $10 or so and you don’t have to remove your QC’s. We got the viton o-rings for these injectors direct from GP, we swap them, and thread the kynar barb on top. We don’t even have to remove the injector.
Also, at the end of the day we pull maybe 1/4 cup of RV anti-freeze into the injector and ball valve since they’re anti-corrosive. No problems, no issues, without the gray proportioner we’re getting around 1% every time. That might also be because we’re getting fresh SH in a 275 gallon tote delivered every couple weeks and fresh it might be closer to 15%. The smell will burn your nose hairs if you lean too far over the chem tanks.
Anyway, I hope all is very well with everyone!
Missed you buddy. Glad things are going well
You guys probably won’t want to hear this, but ever since I made my diy xjet thingy, I haven’t had a single second of downtime or fiddling with injectors.
It just works every single time guaranteed. And my hoses are lasting longer because sh ain’t running through them.
I will never go back to dsi
Also, it’s a higher ratio draw so I can do stucco no problem, and siding houses just go super fast.
How do you get soap to the injector without toting it around with you. Much easier to leave it on the truck
I do have to carry it around, but it’s easier than decanting sh into a tank or dealing with dead injectors, imo. I will try to post a couple pics tomorrow.
I don’t haul around buckets, I have a supplier that does 12.5 in 5 gallon carboys with handles and lids, so a splash of elemonator and I am good to go.
Also, on a typical house wash, I move it 4 times, once per side. It’s actually easier than hoping in and out of the truck to shut off soap.
You’re doing it all wrong lol, but if you’re happy that’s all that matters.
