@squidskc have you modified your xjet to before the Lance? I just got mine and I am reading alot of guys on here modify it before the Lance.

Nope. But it’s on my list. I only really like using the short gun or a 4 foot Lance. No in between. LOL.

Seriously though, the short gun it’s just more maneuverable and easier on my dainty hands and forearms.

While we’re at it though, whoever manufactures the X Jets should probably just go ahead and start putting like a 4 to 6 inch nipple on them. They got a know how bad it mists without it.

When Mike made the first xjet it was similiar to the shooter this now and didn’t mist. When the original patent expired and he put the M5 out (M for Mike and the 5 members of his family) most folks used a 3 foot wand. I got a couple from him a free years before they were for sale and used a 1 foot wand to stop the misting… even without a wand it wasn’t that bad. The quality of the xjets now are nothing compared to the old ones. Xterior changed completely when he sold. On a side note, the most knowledgeable woman in the industry, Julie (Mike’s daughter) went to work for Diego.

I was all gung ho about the xjet when I first started the whole “softwashing” thing (clearly by the post lol) I have honestly found that buying a downstream injector and putting it after the pump and running out of a tank from your rig for your mix is just way easier than carrying around a bucket with you and having a hose hanging from your gun… However I do use the M-5 nozzle on the gun so I dont have to change nozzles and I do like that setup quite a bit. Allot of you pros on here like the j rod tho idk maybe it’s just preference in that aspect.

@anon82972966 i agree however sometimes downstream just isn’t strong enough. Mine is 2.1 mm 3-5 gpm for my 4 gpm machine that’s supposed to be 10-1 but I pull 20-1 very frustrating.ive read on here that I might need to step down and get a 2-3 gpm injector because I have 150 ft of hose or maybe the injector I bought just sucks.

The gun you are using has a lot to do with how much you are pulling, as does injector placement. Keep injector at least 12 inches from pump and use a st2315 gun.

@Innocentbystander I’ve seen people quick connect the injector to the hose reel. In your opinion, Is that better than quick connecting it right to the pump?

That’s only the st1500 tho

Yes indeed

@squidskc I used a 12" Lance and it really does help with misting. very easy to maneuver just need to make sure I put pvc to keep the tube in the chemical bucket

Spring clamps. I have about 20 hanging off my tote right now. Spring clamps are life.

I had problems downstreaming when I first started and it turns out it was my gun. I replaced my gun with a Suttner ST-2605 and voila! Works like a charm! Much easier to keep the trigger pulled back too. I’ve since bought several more of that exact same gun and attached various length lances for the many different scenarios I encounter regularly.
