Xjet m5 questions

I’ve come accross some mixed opinions and posts that dont really answer my questions, so I’m creating a topic (last resort after using search bar)

Anyways… I have an xJet m5 for my 2.5 gpm machine but i just bought a 4gpm machine… do I have to order a new xJet for the 4gpm machine, or cant I just somehow get the bigger orifice I’d need for the inside of the injector on the xJet ? Be gentle on me, I’m still a bit of a novice lol.

Just replace the orfice with the appropriate gpm of your new machine. I just asked this question and squidskc steered me in the right direction. Figured I could reciprocate the favor.

Wasnt sure if you could buy orifices alone… Thanks for being helpful sir.

Waiting for the stand response from the “pros” of this “helpful” forum to use the same old advice of “use the search button”

You ain’t kidding buddy… some are helpful and some are stingy with information and only wanna break balls. As if they’re being forced to be here… why join this type of forum if you dont wanna help other people ? I dont get it lol. You search for something to research it, and you’ll find the topic with a bunch of people being rude or telling people to use the search bar… at some point the search bar is useless tho if no one answers anyone questions. It’s an endless cycle of circle jerking. Lol. "Use the search bar so you can read other people being told to use the search bar. Hahahahaha

Drill out the orifice.

Bingo. It is here somewhere tho. It’s just working out who’s full of bs and who isn’t. Seems to me like there are a few people who give bad advice to screw with the new guys on purpose. The sad thing is we’re here to learn the right way from the start so we can avoid making too many mistakes. Its only natural that someone makes a mistake and I’m all for learning from the mistakes we make. In saying that tho when your trying to do the research and put in the time, it’s nice to get solid advice you can trust without been misled. It’s hard to trust the advice some are saying and some just treat you like your an idiot because you asked a question to better your knowledge. Stick with it my friend. We will get the hang of this soon. :v:

Search terms:

X-jet orifice
X-jet too small
X-jet step down
X-jet orifice replacement

You can be upset if you want I guess if you hate being told to put some effort in but it’s all right there.

34 pages of entries on a completely different forum for the search terms “do a search”.

It’s almost like that’s standard forum etiquette.

@squidskc who’s upset? Just pointing out a fact that it gets said a lot. As for me squid my dear forum friend and mentor. I think I have put in plenty of research over the past 17 days. More than some people over months of being on this forum. When looking for an answer and using the search button it can take some time to find the RIGHT answer.

 that’s the point.

I’d be willing to bet a majority of the “use the search” comments are posted from March to November. I’d be interested in seeing a graph.

Sometimes, believe it or not, use the search is the right answer. It’ll take you to all the best answers instead of one or two people replying with answers that are good enough during the peak of the season when we can’t give you 10 great answers we provided during the winter.

@Innocentbystander I feel like this is one of your funny answers. Lol. I guess that could work tho if you figure out how big the hole needs to be… cant just go in there like a cowboy and ruin a perfectly good orifice. I’ll use the search bar to see if anyone else has done this. And squids even tho your being witty those search terms are legit, I’ll use them. Seriously. Thanks.

And btw squids. I already read the one about the orifice replacement. The topic started about the original question and ended with you guys talking about soaking tools in vinegar to remove rust. See what I mean? This is why people post new topics and ask for direct answers man.

He’s serious. If the orifice doesn’t work for your machine you might as well try drilling it out slightly larger.

If you ruin it you need a different one anyway.

If it works, now you have a long term solution with a $.50 drill bit.

As far as the topics changing directions that does happen. Happens a lot. But the answer was there.

“Change the orifice”

In another post, I have a different answer. “I use 4-6 gpm x-jets for 7-8 gpm machines so I can run longer hoses.”

In both of those… there are answers that work.

I am a total noob. I’ve been researching online 3 or 4 months. Then I came to this forum. Wow! I read a few replies I thought that were less than helpful and thought WTH?! I kept reading. Pretty soon I discovered the posters giving those responses were the most experienced, knowledgeable, and, ultimately helpful! Don’t be a jerk and burn those that can help you jump from noob to skilled. Don’t burn bridges to the most knowledgeable forum on the internet. Hold your tongue. Be respectful. Earn a little respect yourself.

If its not asking too much squids, can you elaborate on what you meant by using a smaller xjet orifice with a machine that has more gpm so that you can use longer hoses ? Are you saying that you lose pressure and or gpm if you’re running say a 200 foot hose from your rig? and that a smaller orifice will give you that pressure back that you need, when that happens (the losing of volume or pressure) ? ?

I’m curious. Because I’ve looked Into that myself on here, because I want to use that amount of pressure hose. But I’ve read a lot where people say they all run that much hose and dont lose gpm or pressure.

I’ve heard mixed things. It’s difficult to know for sure with so many different people saying conflicting things but I get what that other guy was saying about who to listen to and who not to… I mean but some of you guys say crazy stuff. Like ibs telling some noob to use a red tip on vinyl siding lol.

Just an example of what you get when you search and try to read.
