Whisper wash 19” troubleshooting

Is there any way to adjust the height of the spray bars on a whisper wash 19” ultra? It doesn’t seem to be cleaning as good as it did when I first got it. Brand new nozzles and they’re aligned. No vibration. I imagine the swivel is good, no noticeable problem and it’s only a year old. It could just be the dirty concrete I’ve been running into but I’m having to go over it twice to get rid of the stripes. It sorta feels like it has less hover but I could be imagining that. I do post treat. But the stripes are bad enough to where I’m not comfortable post treating and leaving.

When I installed the 4 nozzle bar it had an extra fitting on the shaft causing it to be lower to the surface. That thing cleaned like a champ but it didn’t give me enough clearance. Just checking making sure I’m not missing anything. I usually pre treat with house wash. Am I missing something?

That extra bushing definitely lowers the bar to much. Try a new swivel. If nothing else, you’ll have a spare.

Check your unloader

Already on the way. Just ordered one.

I’m running 4x 2502

I have a k7. What do you mean by check?

Same here. I ordered 2 swivel cartridges before I went to bed lol. $159.99 each. But worth it.

Heck yea. I should have had one on deck to be completely honest. But if this doesn’t fix it at least I’ll have the spare.

I don’t have that model, but if the swivel spins smoothly, it’s not going to be the swivel.

First up, turn it upside down and hold the bar. Press the trigger while it’s running and check to see if the weep hole is leaking any water.

This means a 2c rubber o ring needs replacing.

Also, if that’s not leaking, check the spray pattern is even on both sides while running and holding the bar. Worth checking the line of the nozzle is the same as the bar too.

Next thing I’d check would be the bypass from the unloader. It’s possible that you have too much water bypassing for some reason. It’s a quick test, perhaps unlikely, but part of the process of elimination.

That’s a few good starting points. Thank you.

So if it’s leaking from the weep hole, then possibly a 2c rubber gasket is bad? Is this a specialty part or can it be had from the hardware/auto store? If it’s special to whisper wash up just order some tonight.

Hi,

The weep hole is designed to leak water before damaging the swivel. It’s a TINY o-ring, a match head would be the size of the inside of it.

I got mine from a hardware store and it popped again after a couple of weeks. Original part is best.

Check it out first, it’s so simple, but from your symptoms it could be that

First thing tomorrow morning. Thank you

Not meaning to derail this thread. Why wouldn’t you pre treat the concrete then surface clean then post treat if you have to. We pre treat, surface clean and rinse. 99 % of the time we are good to go.

Now back to our regular scheduled program…

Have you ever gone back and checked some of your work 6-8 months later?
Sometimes (not every) I get lines/stripes and it makes me look bad. Post treating takes very little time and very little chemical but it can make a big difference in how you look.

@Diamond_Soft_Wash it’s a divided subject on here Mike. Have a quick read…

@Harold I didn’t realise the weep hole was on top with whisper wash. Mine is underneath, so not noticeable.

You might have to disregard my advice, sorry.

While I agree with you that it takes little time to post treat, I dont agree that it must be done becuase we pre treat. We also use a 4% mix to pre treat. By the time we surface clean the concrete is 90% cleaned already.

Do you pre treat and post treat?

6-8 months later my work still looks good. But by month 12 it better be dirty again becuase I gotta eat…Lol.

First thing I would do is check your pressure going into the surface cleaner with your usual amount of hose. Putting on the 4 nozzle bar shouldn’t have lowered your height… Don’t you have a 8gpm machine Harold? I run 2502.5’s in mine

In my original post I stated that I do both. Pre with house wash and post with 3-4%.

I’ll check that tomorrow. I do run 8gpm. I’m running 2502 and they were working good originally. I read in another post of yours stating the use of 25025 and ordered some. Just to test the difference but it shouldn’t mean what was working before isn’t working now. Not sure what’s going on but I’m going to start with the swivel. Hopefully it’s just gaskets. Going to test the 25025 set as well.
