What should I put where

They’re out there. I bought a tandem axle 16’ trailer brand new for $1495. You should definitely be able to buy a good used 10’ or 12’ for the 800-1000 range. Don’t be afraid to negotiate. If they want to sell it they’ll say yes.

FB market place and Craigslist are likely the best places to check on a daily basis. It won’t take long to pay it off once you start to use it. You’ll look more professional and will have the room you need.

Ive never seen a lawn mower hanging on a wall before…

Get a small deck fab’ed up for the trailer… really shudnt cost too much.

That’s about what I paid too for a brand new trailer. I had to drive 3 hours to get it but for $1400 well worth the road trip. Mine even came with a brake on one of the axles. There are good deals everywhere sometimes you just have to look for them or be willing to drive a little.

You lucky ducky. Mine didn’t come with any brakes at all. I did some trading with the guy and only ended up paying a grand in cash so it was a pretty good deal for me at the time. I’m really considering going to a truck setup though. I’m excited to see how @SchertzServicesLLC’s new truck does. Hopefully he can get healthy ASAP and go put miles on that thing. Chris, hope you’re doing well buddy!

I reckon pretty soon @Dtejada will understand why people are urging him to reconsider this trailer.

Just make its all safely bolted, not screwed. Id go with 1st pic configuration and carry some water to balance weight. You could be creative and make a sliding mount for the reels so the weight could be over the axles, or adjustible to any location. I can clarify that if needed. Im building a really small trailer for those quick flatwork or housewash. Its 4x4, with 35gbuffer and either my 4gpm or 5gpm. 2 reels, and surf clnr(mounted on ramp). A few buckets and chems. We’ll see what I come up with.

Lawnmower is a Toro Stow N Go, folds and stows away, no fuel spills.

I’ve been looking at trailers and will find someone to fab mine and see what’s fits my budget. I don’t want to dump a lot of money on something experimental. This is a a part time time one or two days a week I plan on doing and seeing how it goes from there. I’m considering all ideas thrown on this thread, that’s why I’m here.

I have to tell you guys, this thread and a few more similar to it have opened my eyes and helped me so much. I sold my small single axle trailer yesterday and have a few email quotes out right now on a tandem axle 7x14 enclosed trailer (7ft tall so my 6’5” self won’t continually hit my head :joy:). I don’t have anywhere to securely park an open utility trailer, so enclosed it is. Waiting on a couple things to come through (hopefully this week) and I’ll start ordering all of my goodies. I’ll post pics in a different thread and I’m sure I’ll be asking a ton of questions. Thanks for helping all of us with our builds and different questions about the PW world. Daniel- good luck with your build and business. I’m also in FL up in the panhandle.

Ethel has been in the garage sitting since last Monday. But I’ve managed to put a thousand miles on her! Feeling blah today. Ready for this surgery!

You’re going to have plenty of time to rack up miles on that rig. Just get healthy first! When are you doing the first oil change?

Probably a few days before the first big snow. So a month or so.

Where you at In this country @JGil911 ?

The sooner the better. You’ll want to get that break in oil out of there asap. They say they’re broken in from the factory but every technician that I trusted told me that the first oil change should be done at a thousand miles. Second should be done at three thousand then start you’re regular maintenance from there. I’m pumped to see how your truck looks next season. I’m really considering trading my truck in and getting either a longbed or a flatbed.

@Hotshot I’m in LA (Lower Alabama), a.k.a. NW Florida. :joy::joy::joy:

Those folks are Awesome, and the cheapest on good quality trailers I’ve found . There on craigslist. @JGil911

I was strongly considering putting an aluminum flatbed on it. But I’m blowing more than I’d like on it in plows this year.

You could probably sell the bed and get most of what the aluminum bed would cost back. My question is does aluminum not rust or corrode when using fasteners of a different metal type? I forget the word for that.

I’m not sure! I’ve had many aluminum toolboxes that has the bolts holding them rot out and the holes just be slightly orange! So I wouldn’t think so!

Well I’ll be damned. I say go with the aluminum bed then. Get @Hotshot up there to polish it up like a mirror and then run it down the highway and blind folks!
