What is your cost per customer on average?

I’m asking this because of my background. My main job is being a graphic designer and advertising specialist. On average I manage an advertising of $500,000 for Facebook and Google.

On the side I do pressure washing and use this skills to acquire clients. Right now I just use Facebook ads. So no flyers, no Google, no youtube, no billboards, no yard signs, etc. For me the cost of a customer is roughly $7-15. Right now for me that is not to bad especially without a website and Facebook Pixel. The goal is to bring that down to $5 per customer once I get a website. (The average booking price for a customer is $400.)

What are your cost on average and what do you do to get customers?

I try to keep my customer base at about 60 to 70 customers each customer base cost a sack of Bojangles’ biscuits that I take to the maintenance crew the first day of each job. If I need more customers I just answered the phone

Can you say that in clearer terms?

I’m from North Carolina. That’s about as simple as I can get it. I don’t advertise. I think anyone in business over about 5 years shouldn’t have to. I mainly do apartments now. I’ll buy the on staff crew a bag of Bojangles if that counts as advertising. If I need more work I just answer the phone or check emails. There is more work out there than anyone could possibly do, you shouldn’t have to spend money to find it.

You forgot the most important part, in business for 5 years and good at it. Word of mouth is 10x better than any advertising

Heck, if you’re not good at it your probably won’t be in business for five years

Im not too good on my numbers but $7/customer sound very cheap! We’re probably 10-$30/ lead with a 60% ish percent close rate… totally guessing on those numbers but as long as we keep growing we’ll keep advertising

It is about building your online presence. Social media is too powerful not to use.

I feel like it is too. I appreciate your understanding and appreciate the feedback.

Let’s connect. I’ll share some of what I do on Facebook.

Online presence never bought a box of 22’s or a gallon of milk. Social media will be the downfall of this nation. If you go out and do good work your business will grow and you’ll have more work than you can handle.

I think you might not understand it which is fine. Everyone one doesn’t understand something. I’m glad that works for you but I don’t think politics and business usually works out well. Online presence is what drives customers and builds what is called a brand. A brand can buy that for you.

I don’t get the politics remark. But, the Internet is a passing fad and I wouldn’t suggest investing money in it to build a business. Those that do are usually scammers.

So why are you messing with pressure washing? Sounds like you need to spend more time developing your primary business.

Lol…:grinning:

Well, my advertising costs this year are $60 for print adv, hand brushing about 60 feet of gutter for free(was already washing the hosue), and one reduced price oxidation removal. The print ad got me two phone calls, 1 estimate, and no work. The 60 feet of free gutter brushing got me most of my work so far this year, and the reduced rate oxidation removal got me paid for the job and a couple of good paying gigs. I may have to buy more business cards soon, so I will likely be out about another $30 in advertising for the year. I’m going to cap it at $100 for the year I think. Recession/inflation concerns  But I only work part time and am trying to keep it that way.

Well we will see you in the past. Try to keep your ignorance there as well.

I enjoy pressure washing and find it to be a simple market to go into. Especially when you look and most website are from 2012. Also hardly anyone is doing marketing effective in the industry. Sure it works but not up to the potential that it could be. Realizing that when you have the ability to track everyone who visits your website, advertise directly to them, use that data to grow, bring roi down, etc.

Coming from someone who has had plenty of marketing related disagreements with the same person…you are essentially calling one of the 2-3 most knowledgable folks on here ignorant… Everytime you pop in here you wind up saying things to people that are generally out of line clicking through your history. For all his rough edges, IBS is always willing to offer help to guys on here, while it really seems like you’re trying to sell your services or something

Man, my website is a lot older than 2012. Granted it been down for a year or three now and then when I forget to pay the listing fee thingy. Tell me more about this Jules Verne contraption you have that lets you go to the past. That would be sweet. Probably has tubes and buss fuses. Old school. If you need some advice to get your washing gig up and running so you don’t have to mess with the internet and marketing side job I’m just a phone call or a letter away. Hint, get forever stamps. We got 20 rolls in 2008 for $42 a roll. Still got some and now I think stamps are a nickel above a half buck.
