Wanted: a little advice (Pavers)

Another question for someone…today I went with straight 12.5 SH. I watered pre, during and after. I did notice some of the grass right below the wall had already burned, so I watered more. I’m guessing that when I surface clean and rinse it further diluted whatever SH rinses off. How long after the job is the vegetation at risk? I hope I don’t get a call in a week about more grass and plants dying. I hope that I saturated enough.

I pre wet certain things.
Windows always, and if its hot and sunny i will pre wet the whole wall. The reason to pre-wet is not to dilute but to make sure the mix does not dry on the surface which can cause other problems. Also pre-weting, gets a little water on the grass and plants. Even hardy plants can be spotted badly if the mix drys on the foliage.

Concrete i pre-wet then pre-treat.

Roofs, flagstone, limestone, brick, and most hard surfaces i dont pre-wet.

I don’t worry too much about grass, though I do wet it. I am very careful about plants and if I am using a high concentration I wet them and cover them. A note for some of you that are new. As it gets hotter be careful about covering plants with plastic. If you cover them for long, particularly in direct sunlight you will kill them. When it gets real hot I use bed sheets but even then they can’t be covered too long but 20 minutes under plastic when it’s 90 or above can kill plants.
