Wanted: a little advice (Pavers)

My first time doing a paver patio and this one looks really dirty. Wondering if I could down stream a 1% HW mix or go at it with a 50/50 pump up mix? As for rinse, I would assume rinse with a low soap tip? Y’all wouldn’t take a surface cleaner to this, right? I could learn the hard way but I’m hoping with a little advice I’ll be able to get it right the first time.

Also the red on the bottom of the house, not sure if that is some sort of oxidation or just some spray from the rain hitting the dirt.

Going to get this done Monday. Thanks, y’all!

Pump up and medium pressure for the pavers. Do a test on the side of the house with you 50/50 mix. If it goes away, its algae. If not it is irrigation stains and bleach wont do it. Would need to use F9 or ox and charge accordingly.

Thank you, sir!

The side of that house is probably not algae…I have tried a lot of it and bleach has never taken care of it. Hopefully, you will have better luck.

There is no gutter on that side of the house, so dirt is just splashing there.

Sometimes dirt contains metals like iron and leaves rust stains. I see it all the time especially on white stucco.

Cool. I won’t be able to get the F9 Barc in time but I appreciate the input. That part wasn’t part of the job I just wanted to upsell but I can give her a quote for future reference. Appreciate y’all time!

dilute hydrochloric will work for iron stains or red clay, test an inconspicuous area

You can try muriatic acid on the red on the bottom of the house. You can get it from one of the big box stores. Start out first with a 10:1 mix in a pump sprayer and rinse after 5 min. with medium pressure. It’s very strong so be sure to follow the manufactures instructions.

Oh ok, that makes sense now. Thank you!

So I’ve got a gallon of 12.5, mix that with one gallon and now it’s about 6%, mix it with another and it’s about 3. So a 2:1 water to SH ratio is about 3%. Am I doing that right?

That is correct if you are using a direct application pump.

No. The first gallon of water cuts it in half. But now you have TWO gallons. If you want to cut THAT in half, you have to add TWO gallons.

Lol…
And this is math on a pump sprayer, and not down ds.

Lol. Close enough. Been a long day already

Thanks for the tutoring. Likewise 1/2 gal SH with 1.5gal. water is 4.2%?

That is not correct, but I may be confused on what you are trying to do…

.5 + 1.5 = 2.0

.5 is 25% of 2.0

25% of 12.5 is 3.125%

That’s what I was trying to do, get a 3% mix into an2gal pump sprayer. Thanks!
