Verifly General Liability Insurance

Yo. Stumbled on an app called Verifly. I ran a quote and did a very small amount of research, but my current quote is for 1/4 ($300 a year) of what I’m paying for Nationwide for what looks like the same amount of coverage.

I have a couple questions for them about who underwrites, CC&C, and if it covers commercial, but if it’s residential only and some of you are just starting out/part time, it’s probably not a bad thing to at least do your due diligence for the first 2 years and only do residential if that’s your plan anyway.

Just a thought. Probably can’t answer many questions about it as I just emailed the company today.

Thank you! I will be checking this out. I am in the process of getting insurance and it is proving to be difficult. I was quoted north of $4000 the other day through a local guy. JW came back @ $1600 for the year. I finally found a list of people locally who offer PW insurance and am reaching out this week.

Will definitely look into this, thank you.

Awesome. Just starting out and this will give me some place to start researching. Keep us posted

I salivate at the thought of $300 a year Insurance! But the plowing exposure is not something insurance companies like…

I can get 2 mil in GL through them for $65.00 a month. This seems like a to good to be true thing. Anyone else have an opinion?

I was messing around looking at it and clicked on “snow removal” as an add on because it made me think of you and how much you pay so wanted to see what they offered. You could only continue if you clicked the boxes that said, “my work will not include commercial properties” and “my work will not include condos or apartments” or something to that effect. Still though, it could possibly be a good option for guys that just do a residential.

I was browsing through the policy and found this. It almost makes it sound like it could be a way out for them if you file a claim for damage since most of what we wash has some form of mildew. Am I just reading it wrong?

It will be interesting to hear what Brodie finds out about it. It might be pretty basic but at least some of these guys running around without insurance might actually get insured. Doubt it though.

Here ya go. Won’t work for me, but might for some of you.

Good find though. That’s a perfect solution for people who only plan on doing residential or even weekend warriors.

By reading a paragraph in a policy’s coverage documents I bet a vital toe you’ve looked into your insurance coverage more than 98% of people with general liability… I might be tearing up.

I feel like nowadays you almost have to read the policy especially if you don’t have a local agent. Purchasing through a local agent might cost a tad more but find the right one and you can likely trust them to do the legwork for you. It’s a lot harder to walk through your agent’s office door and knock his lights out for lying to you and not covering a claim when he lives across the country…haha

Interesting. No cost for additional insureds but a maximum length of 11 months?

$20 a month for $1 mil and $23 for $2 mil but a maximum of $5000 in medical expenses.

You’ve just discovered why insurance policies are 40-60 pages thick. As a former agent, I was always cognizant of the errors and omissions that I and virtually every agent is guilty of every day. Policies have “escape clauses” throughout. It’s best to buy this coverage through an agent that has a vested interest in your happiness, or at least has an errors and omissions policy of his own. That’s where your final claim may very well end up.

It definitely seems too good to be true.

$188.22 per year… wow

Yes, but it appears to not cover much unfortunately.

I use Verifly to cover my drone operations when I am doing commercial or real estate photography. I didn’t even know they offered other types of insurance.

will get back to you on that.

Why not separate the plowing from the pressure washing? Create a dba for the plowing and insure separately. Not sure if it would save you money, but you may be able to find a carrier that deals specifically with plowing.
