Unusual Streaks after using surface cleaner

That’s a picture framed driveway. They stay chalky white for years because when they pour them, they back brush them sooner than a regular driveway pour, which creates a thicker, whiter layer of cream. Only way to clean those is sh and whatever surfactant and a fan tip rinse. I’ve even had light brushing with a degreaser to take the cream off when trying to get stains out.

That’s why it needs to be in line with the bar. If it’s a whisper wash style. I haven’t seen where you told us what you were using

I see what you’re saying. The fan of the nozzle needs to be parallel with the bar. I thought you were taking the actual nozzle. I was thinking something different than you. Here is a link to my SC Simpson 80182 Professional 20" Surface Cleaner 4500 PSI 212°F

Thats stuff is starting to pop up here more and more.

Im curious about this stuff too. Racer has cleaned some at a restaurant with no problems that i know of. Its looked good to me. I am curious if there is anything to loom out for with this stuff. @gbattle any experience with this stuff?

Yeah it made me a bit nervous considering the age of the concrete and the cream just looked brittle, don’t know how else to describe this one. There was no damage anywhere but I didn’t feel comfortable the way it looked with all that fiberglass hair sticking out and super white cream.

Maybe itll buff out.

Only way to get it out now is to run over it with a lawn mower.

He said a Simpson surface cleaner, whatever that entails.

Some of the Northern Tool surface cleaners used to come with zero degree tips in them. I used to have a 20 inch GP SC I got back in 2012 that had zero degree tips in them that I used with a 3k psi 2.5gpm machine. Don’t ask me how it worked but I cleaned a few driveways with it…just took a while. Concrete was 20+ years old. When I got my 4/4 a few years ago I switched the tips to 2504 once I started learning on this forum. Definitely be careful of using stock tips in a SC.

Thanks @Bear, I’m just now starting this pressure washing thing and I’m glad I ran across this website, post and your reply.

The cream is white because the driveway has a picture frame or mirror edge finish (joints and edges smooth). To achieve this look, the driveway is broomed slightly wet then tooled, instead of being tooled then broomed, like in most cases. When the concrete is broomed wet, sand and concrete left on the surface (cream) washes off easily. Fiber is mostly used commercially, but is sometimes used in residential concrete when the base (dirt) is not stable (soft or slightly muddy). Fiber which looks like fiberglass, is tossed in with the mix by the driver before the truck leaves the plant and is more noticeable right after the concrete has been cleaned.

Maybe one or more of the nozzles got clogged and overloaded the other 1-2

I got a surface cleaner that came stock with 2520 nozzles. What psi will that give me with a 4/4?

So according to this chart, my surface cleaner would be putting out less then 500 psi? With a 2520

2520 would give you 40 psi
2502 would give you 4000
