Truck washing (Soaps, Tips and Tricks)

You can only do it with flow sensitive unloaders. You run pressure trapped unloader.

1/2" or 5/8" just bigger than what you got would be a start

Now you speaking german one me…haha

That’s OD right? as the barb on the unloader is 3/8" I can’t go 1/2" or 5"8" on a 3/8" barb…or am I wrong here?

When your unloader goes into bypass the working pressure is trapped in your hose. My hose just about goes limp only carrying around 75 psi. I can use a pressure relief to bleed at 70 so I get a lil stream

Go 1/2" id and just leave the barb be. You can squeeze it down around a 3/8 barb no big deal

It won’t leak as there is no pressure there

I’ll get me some tomorrow and test it out this weekend. If it doesn’t work I’ll be back on here asking more questions. But I’m sure your knowledge definitely surpasses mine and it’ll work. Fingers crossed.

Hey I’m just guessing here! No charge

I’ll take your guess over my guess any day of the week! I’m sure it’ll work.

It just pissed me off tonight as I was ready to clean in the cold. This winter cleaning is for the birds!

And you should know I’m not a very good guesser but I do get lucky as hell

Well, I’m not good at guessing but when I see something that looks right it usually works out. I think I see what you are saying and it should work!

Buy 1/2" ID and clamp down if I read correctly right? Once again, I’m smoking a cigar and drinking some bourbon so my thought process is a little slow this evening

Easy peasy look for that 1/2" id hose in rubber too

Never thought about going rubber. Was just looking for the same poly braided hose I was running. I’ll look for both, rubber may be easier to find though.

I’m just hoping it’s not something else causing this. No clue what it could be though. Never had a problem till tonight so it has got me nervous as I am not familiar with troubleshooting just yet

Too cold to wash that’s your problem right there. Call it and sit at home with your bourbon my friend. They get washed when they get washed lol

I think size wise you’re probably ok but I’d go with rubber or ag hose. But also, how old is that hose you were using? That braided doesn’t last forever. Depending on brand the working pressure on that is 150 - 300 psi when new. Also the temperature range on most braided pvc tubing is 25 - 150 degrees. That’s probably your problem right there. So get some real hose and you should be good to go. But carry a spare unloader with you just in case.

This will show my ignorance. What is a good unloader to have once this one goes out? It’s a Landa PGHW 4.8GPM 3500 psi

Hose was replaced in August as it sprung a leak. I’m going today to find some runner hose at Tractor Supply

I think @Racer runs the K7 I don’t know if he’s a fan of them or not. It’s my opinion they are the most finicky of all the GP flow sensitive unloaders. My recommendation is the GP K5 with the 3.0-4.2gpm flow range. The part number is K5.1 or the new ZK1 unloader.

I run this George, air line, doesn’t collapse or bend. Farm store has it.

I’m pretty sure that’s for air and water only
