Truck washing (Soaps, Tips and Tricks)

Doesn’t @dperez let his pump weep somewhere so he doesn’t have to worry about the pump overheating? He has so many little tricks I might be confusing it with something else. Couldn’t you do something like that?

Yeah , but he really keeps an eye on it. I don’t have that luxury yet. I wash as much as my help does. I don’t let anyone do the truck, trailers only.
I used to do it the way @dperez did . You got 2 minutes tops. I’ve heard of ppl running a long return line to dissipate the heat.

Too bad you didn’t have access to that drone you use to fly. Next time he tries to scam you saying you weren’t suppose to clean certain trucks you could just fly over later that evening and take them all out with some Hellfire missiles.

I don’t see why you can’t split the buffer line via 3 way, one line to buffer, one to pump and put a high pressure check valve at the pump ,so when your upstreaming it doesn’t come back to buffer tank ? but I’m sure I’m missing something @marinegrunt.
I’m patiently waiting for Dez to chime in. He must be burning the night lights tonight.

I need diagrams and blueprints. I am great at following instructions and okay at figure stuff out after breaking it once or twice. I just want to skip that part of figuring it out

Date day all day today

I washed one and was totally embarrassed. Theory is much different from practical…lol.
I am confused about what soaps, acid and brightener to buy.

I purchase the super sonic pre-soak and the drizzly from hydro chem at Gabes recommendation to start after my botched washing job.

I am running a 4 gpm machine with a hot box. I am thinking about by hydro chem 2 step gun but don’t have the $$. I also have a hard water issue as well.

I know that’s a lot of info. I really as appreciate all of the feedback and coaching from you guys that I cmcan get.

Regards–

I may have to ask one of guys if it’s ok for me to come and spend a day with you in the field to help you guys so can watch and learn. I am all the way in NJ. I know trip would be worth it. If you or dperez or Hotshot can accommodate I would be indebted to you.

I would just check into a nearby hotel. My wife knows I am trying to get my business of the ground and knows I wouldn’t travel another planet for knowledge if I have to…

Thanks guys…

I’m only in the field about 6 days a month. You’re visit would most definitely fall on my off days. I’m pretty much only building trucks for the time being. Sean might be your best bet

Kool!! Thank you for offering…

Young man peeing, or a older dude peeing @dperez ? It used to be like a shooter tip off a 12gpm Udor, now its more like a soap tip shooting outta a 4gpm AR pump.

I also have a hard water issue as well.

If anything, buy a small RV water softener to mix your chemicals with, @GeorgeNicholson bought the same one I have for way cheaper.

Definitely need a water softener. It’ll change everything up for you.

This is the one I ended up going with. If you want to recharge it before every job you can run your line to this and then to your water tank. Salt is cheap and your chems will work better.

I think you are gonna love supersonic and grizzly mix. I can’t wait to get ahold of that Grizzly.

Don’t forget your proportioners in your lines as well to use just enough soap so you don’t waste chems

What kind of vehicles are you washing? Not sure if you already posted that or not.

I’m sure @Hotshot would hook you up. He lives in the boonies of Arkansas though. If you stay at his place and hear a sheep making a bunch of ruckus in the middle of the night just don’t look out the window.

He washes some impressive rigs and does some amazing work. If you scroll up he has posted pictures of some of his work. He even polishes aluminum on high dollar rigs. It’s awesome. I know there are a lot of posts but you really need to start at the beginning of this thread and read through the whole thing. There’s enough info above to where you can learn almost everything needed to at least get started.
