Truck washing (Soaps, Tips and Tricks)

I almost got the HCS 400 for my #2 after chatting with Chad. The high foam is what kinda turned me off of it though. Some of my clients don’t have water and I barely have the water to clean all their pieces.

I’m going to try 35:1 for my supersonic and 25:1 for my dynaclean.

Gonna be busy next week as I have my Monday/Tuesday job with Runner Freight (these trucks are always filthy), then clean my nursery Monday evening, demo with Cintas Tuesday afternoon, moving company Tuesday evening and then my huge account Thursday evening (40+ pieces)

Can’t wait to start the Hy-Vee account. Wanna see how long it will take me to clean 40+ pieces. Also will be damming off the sewers and using a submersible pump to discharge water into vegetation.

Here is an odd one for you guys.

The box vans, like the one Cintas truck above. Went to a company here and pitched to get them cleaned by me. He said he wasn’t impressed with his current guy, sounds promising for me. I gave him my prices but he had an odd request. Once every 2 to 4 months he wants aluminum brighter used on the inside of his trucks. The walls in the back, inner doors, and the dog house that covers the tranny. He also is looking at getting the inside cab sprayed down. He liked my prices for the outside but I told him I’d have to research how to price doing the inside. Any ideas how to price or actually implement the cleaning of this without getting water everywhere?

I used to HF the insides of my FedEx delivery trucks monthly . The reason is ,they get black and nasty from all the package’s that roll around all day on the 100 % aluminum hot box and drivers station /cab, Then the driver is covered and packages are nasty , in your case the Cintas are a uniform company, so they definitely wanna keep all that clean…I’d DS HF straight, pull you
DS tubes shut off your 3 way, then use black soap tip to rinse, you might be able to use m37,or Super sonic. But if you want it done and bright right now? I’d go with HF ,and have the person applying it wear a respirator with all doors open, blow debris out the back roll up or barn doors, Shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes, I’d charge $40 bucks per unit,if they want them pre shop vacuumed before HF ,go higher $. Good HF is $5 a gallon for me. You’ll probably go through about a half gallon per unit @GeorgeNicholson. Don’t worry about getting everything wet. Those trucks are designed to take a beating. But I’d cover the seat and dash board with a grill cover or alike, and bag the gps thingy, and the gun scanner holder thingy bob,if equipped. If there’s a master shut off. Use it. I’ve never had a problem

Damn, I knew you’d say HF! I’m trying to stay away from it but you are pushing me closer to it

And we have some guy low balling everything. Those Cintas type trucks (a bread company) are getting $17 for each Bi-Weekly. I’d do $17 for weekly and if they had 15+ pieces. But I can’t see how I could be profitable at $170 every two weeks. But I could look at it as this is my fuel costs for the month (business and personal fuel costs)

Lol. If there was something even remotely comparable, I’d use it man. But PH and citric acid is a pain, like watching paint dry. I use PH and citric. But only because I have to on polished stuff. You won’t have to worry about anything polished. My 2 cents.

I wouldn’t start the truck for $17 a unit at 15 units, that’s a smaller company that I like dealing with, because they pay more imo. Also your doing a more detailed service by doing the insides. Don’t sell yourself short man. Not many ppl would do the insides. If there not willing to pay more, walk away, there’s bigger fish to fry in your pond man.

The insides was a different company. I have 3 great leads from knocking on doors today and 1 decent lead. I am sure I can get all 4 if I really wanted

Only problem is I don’t like doing 10 for $17 a piece, if I could talk them into weekly at that price or $25 for biweekly I will try. He already isn’t happy with his service but at the same time I want more business as I have a whole week I don’t do anything. Next week is my busy week as I clean 4 of my 5 clients in 1 week. The other one is a monthly contract, which I may drop if they don’t go to biweekly, not worth the headache with how dirty they are.

That’s your in. Tell them you can’t make chicken soup outta chicken crap. He’s telling you he wants better service, so with a premium services come a higher price right? Go sell it! ya soap slinging, dual lance spraying , bug :bug::honeybee::lady_beetle: washer :joy:

We shall see what happens. I put in the bid for $25 per. I knew he wasn’t going to take my normal $35 for that size of a vehicle so bit the bullet and just went with a lower price to help fill in my schedule, and at worst this is my fuel costs for the month for all my other jobs. I explained to him in the email that my normal price was $35 for biweekly and I have put in a bid for $17 per truck but that was for 30+ pieces cleaned weekly. I’m on the fence whether I care or not if he takes it. Had some other promising leads so we will see.

I need to pump out water to vegetation, bought a sump pump to do so and I am not getting it to work with much luck. Any other suggestions? I need to figure something out by Thursday.

Why…?

It is a 115V pump and my truck won’t run it. But the generator on my Landa will get it to work but it is literally working at 10% capacity.

Currently deciding between:

You need to be careful running high wattage stuff off your landa generator while running your burner. Those generators run $800 to a grand. You need a gasser,or another cheap genie from HF man to run the 115 volt.go harbor freight all the way for the cheap stuff. Ask @SchertzServicesLLC what he paid for his lil genie

I plugged it in just to see if it would work since it wouldn’t work from my Ram. That’s why I am looking for a gas power transfer pump now.

Yeah but if you all ready bought it ,then you might wanna look into a genie to run it. Than your very versatile on your rig to do other jobs.but to each there own kinda thing. I got a 8500 watt on the rig and I love it.

I got my predator from harbor freight for $725 with tax with a coupon. It has 150 hours on it already :joy:

I like it cold!

Ya, ice box freak show @SchertzServicesLLC . :joy:
