Where did you find a barb that was threaded on the inside? Or am I looking at this wrong?
Boatner enterprise in poplarbluff Missouri, comes with strainer basket and colored proportioners used in the car washing industry. Its basically a $20 redneck metering valve system @WiscoWashPros
Went out in March and tried to get Old Dominion to switch vendors, then covid happened and everything went on pause. Got an email 10 days ago from them wanting to get their trucks washed. Went out there Saturday (8hours) and Sunday (5 hours) and knocked out 54 day cabs. I wasnāt extremely happy with the results as a whole but decided at the price point that they wanted to pay I wasnāt doing tank whitening unless they wanted to pay for the service. Got done with the wash and was nervous about the feedback, due to the tanks (I like perfection). Got an email from the terminal manager that the drivers and he was extremely happy with the results. The only negative feedback we got was we missed one side of a truck, probably happened when we switched off and assumed that the side was done. We still got to go out and clean the trailers, which I plan on going out for 4 or so hours and knock out as many trailers I can daily until they are done. They want the trailers cleaned quarterly.
How would you other fleet washers that are by yourself try to knock out this many? The terminal manager is fine with me coming out daily and wash as many as possible. They have 1 water source on the whole compound so once Iām out of water Iāll probably pack up and come out the next day.
There are at least 70 trailers to be cleaned unless the pup trailers are filthy and need washed
He is a good guy. Iāve been talking with him about his gun. $500 for the gun, $1,000 including the hoses and a cover for the hoses that is similar to the water hose on fire trucks. Tried to trade him an 8gpm pump for a setup but that was a no go
Firstly Iāve read no where near all of this thread but Iāve been looking into cleaning my personal car and work truck a little easier and was looking into making my chems instead of buying 10 different products and partially because itās fun learning everything⦠this statement is the only thing thatās stopping me⦠Iāve heard that semi paint is better but cant find anything to back it up
Edit: Iāll also say im not looking into using Hf or your heavy duty degreaser maybe more like citric/oxalic and a weaker basic soap probably a small about pf lye and sodium metasilicate
If you take your vehicles to a touchless car wash they are using an acid and soap to obtain the same results we are in fleet washing. You are perfectly fine in using a HF based acid and a high pH soap to to step them. If your goal is to do it quickly then this is the way to go, if not then just buy a car wash soap and brush like any other home owner washing their vehicles
Thanks man exactly what I wanted to hear, my personal car is a convertible thatās why I was thinking weaker soaps⦠With my normal carwash soap the car is so dirty that even scrubbing, bugs are still left, some spots left, stuff like that. Im sure even buffing up the strengths a little bit will help when the cars are real dirty
There is soaps and acids out there that are non caustic and safe but its a $150 shipping fee. If I weāre you id stick to safe soaps to protect that rag top and check into chemical guys unless you wanna buy 55 gallon drums of it like we have to.
I feel old as hell today. Only cleaned 32 trucks but for some reason it felt like I was bench pressing 500 lbs 100 times. That 6.5ā lance kincks your ā ā ā
I dropped down to a 45" lance because the new gun is almost 10" long off the gun. It helps. And your running 1 wire hose or did they send you 2 wire ?
I am 90% positive itās a 1 wire. Had to use the long lance because they hadnāt had their trucks cleaned since February when I came out last month to clean them. I didnāt have my long lance set up to get all the bugs the first day so Iām trying to catch-up with the damn bugs. After this month weāll be good till spring time. But I do enjoy the long lance as a lot of the trucks are close together so I can sit at the front wheel and get the whole side of the cab without moving.
Gotta get out there and do demos to land the job
