Store for commercial flat work type stuff? Not sure they really care about that though do they? At least the guys with trucks wants them to look halfway decent rolling down the road. I just see a need and pay attention to how often they are being washed and if they are being done well or not. If I see the need, I go in and bat my greens at the girl up front and smile. That usually gets me to talk to the decision maker

Picked up two clients yesterday (so I thought). Was going out Sunday to clean both, which both were notified. Get a text today stating that one of the new clients cleaned their trucks today and am not needed. Asked if they wanted me to come out in 2 weeks and was told he’d let me know. They are getting one more chance and I’m moving on. Oh well, win some and lose some

I don’t know how you do it, I could never do the door knocking style of marketing. I don’t even have any shame and still can’t do it lol. Your special George.

I didn’t think I could do it either. The first couple were akward but now I go in knowing there is a 95% chance I get a no thanks. I leave the door open for them to call me back when their current vendor fails them.

I need to figure out a way around the No Soliciting sign. I’ve seen a couple of companies that need some washing but can’t figure out around that. Any ideas?

I’d respect the no solicitation sign, we have a zero tolerance policy on using those that ignore it at my day job. Instead maybe send an actual letter not an email but a letter saying that you offered a service and would love to talk with them about it but saw the no solicitation notice on their door and wanted to honor that by not taking up time in their busy schedule. Include your contact information. Give it a few days then email them about the letter.
Emails are to easy to block or ignore, but people get so few letters anymore that you can be sure they will read it just for the novelty.

Just write a note on their vehicles like I do. Then put your card on their windshield wiper…

@GeorgeNicholson I’m not sure how much of marketing for house washing transfers over to fleet washing but I would just keep retargeting them with emails and whatnot, when I did it with house washing I would target an area loads of times and I would always get work on the 3rd 4th 5th attempt, in your case one positive strike out of a few attempts could be a good little ongoing account. If that fails just Stevie wonder the soliciting signs and apologise lol.

I rarely see a need to walk in, I just phone them up for a quick chat.

I haven’t worked 60 a week since I was in my early 30’s. I went down to 10 days a month years ago and recently I pulled myself out of the field completely

I did the same 3 years ago, my boys kicked me off the trucks because I was being picky lol, I told them if I get one call back I’m back on the trucks. I dont think they want there boss around them :joy:

Well maybe you should quit reaching around them to help them use the gun and they may take to you being around again
