@GeorgeNicholson you would speak with whomever runs the water service in your area. City or private firm you can generally lease the hydrant meters from them. If you go this route flush out the hydrant for a minute or two till the water runs clear and for god sake put a filter between it and your tank… and turn them on and off slowly or you could cause a water hammer in the system and blow out water mains.

After today I could set all my equipment on fire and go back to deploying!
Left this morning at 3am from Rapid City and drove 8 1/2 hours back to Omaha. Got in around 1pm and got maybe a 30 minute nap in before heading out to clean. Usually this job takes me 6 hours to clean all the pieces, tonight…8 freaking hours! No reason why, nothing broke. They were just dirty as hell and my average 12-15 minutes a piece went to 18 per. I wanted to walk away so many damn times, forgot my gloves so at the end of the night with 33* weather and 15mph winds I was dying

Growing pains man, you’ll be washing them in your sleep in no time. I know all too well about dirty trucks adding minutes and those minutes adding up to hours. Don’t feel too bad about leaving your gloves I left my boots once and washed in my running shoes lol boy that night sucked. And be careful that wet cold will put the hurt on you. Hope you recover quickly!

Never dealt with the ash. I think yesterday sucked because of the 8+ hour drive and then turn around and start cleaning trucks for another 8 hours just 4 hours after getting home. I could have used a hot tub last night, glad we don’t have one as I am sure I would have drown last night.
