Trailer tires

Are they any type or brand of tires that will last longer? I have an enclosed 7x14 and usually run with a full 275 tote and a hot water skid so I have a good amount of weight. Ive been going back with the same tires that came factory. I remember reading a thread on here regarding tires but can’t seem to locate it.

This is my current tires

You have paint on your threads

Paint on my threads? Not sure what you mean? Treads? I don’t see paint. It’s dirty.

That’s damn cheap but I was looking more for higher quality. It seems like I remember someone running air less tires, runway tires, I don’t know what they’re called. Vague memory. But at 36 a piece I could just buy a few sets and forget about it. Thanks for the link

Be sure to get trailer tires. They are notated by ST then the tire size verses car/truck tires that are P followed by tire size. Also look at the “Load Range” of the tire. Trailer tires have a load (weight) allowed per tire. Calculate the max weight of your trailer fully loaded and then divide by the number of tires on trailer. This will tell you what load range you need to be looking at.

The difference is that trailer tires are made with stronger sidewalls to withstand the weight put on a trailer.

When is comes to trailer tires, I always get the best I can afford. This is not the place to save money. You life may depend on it going down the road at 60-70 mph…

Every thread was painted over with white paint

I personally get 10 or 12 ply. You’re gonna pay $128 a tire for 10. But if you’re pulling a double axle ,then rotate atleast twice a year, stay away from curbing them to much. Should last you 2 to 3 years. I haul around 3500 lbs ,without a full buffer tank. My 2 cents…don’t skimp on trailer tires.

Also while I’m at it , pack you’re bearings once a year. And for ya’ll that got bearing buddies and think your good, think again, cause bearing buddies only get grease to the front bearings. I pack mine twice a year, reason is ? It’s because I live on a 7 mile gravel road. And 50 percent of my customers also do. Dust and road grit will kill your bearings and spindles fellas.
