Trailer Build

3k axle

Nor trying to argue. You asked for advice 2 or 3 k axle is not enough. You want to blow a tire hauling that much stuff? Throw an axle under it and be done. Or donā€™t. Just donā€™t drive near my wife kids if you go one axle. When there is little to be gained there is little to be risked.

Iā€™m not arguing Iā€™m just trying to figure what the cost difference is going to be

I donā€™t think that the Innocentbystander is concerned about cost, only the safety, health and well being of those around a single axle trailer when it is being used for more than light duty recreational work.

The cost is totally insignificant when compared to possibly blowing a tire and involving yourself and/or others in a wreck that could be prevented by adding an axle. Iā€™ve got a 2k single axle trailer, and thereā€™s noooooo way Iā€™d ever consider putting a 225 tank on it along with all of your other equipment.

So the boils down to 500 lbs pwer heater surface cleaner and then 150 -200 gallon take if it was all the way full I might have 75-100 gallons in itā€¦also said and done 1100 lbs with 600lbs left it would work out perfectly

Iā€™m kinda done here. Either ride with a tank full or empty. Do what makes you happy with the extra axle. I donā€™t live where you may be driving.

It all about the weight I am still with in my tire weight and 600ibs to spare so Iā€™m not worry thanks for the input

I think one of the main concerns is a blowout. What happens when you lose 1 of only 2 tires? Itā€™s going to be worse than losing 1 out of 4.

Also, riding with a tank half full is going to create a lot of slosh. It will have a negative effect on braking, starting, and cornering- in a somewhat unpredictable manner. Like @Innocentbystander stated, ride empty or ride full. Half full is not a good idea.

If youā€™re committed to always emptying the tank before towing the trailer anywhere, then a single axle may work ok for now. But purchasing a second axle should definitely be in your gameplan if you plan on expanding or doing more than part time work.

I drove tanker trucks for 4 years and yes I know how water moves when you stop and having a blow out I could understand hiway driving but in town not worried about it and yea I am having a trailer built I went and sat down with a dealer and came up with a good set up for me so my trailer is going to do for now

Uploadingā€¦ This guyā€™s been single axle 325 gallons going on 10urs no blow outs heā€™s got Power washer generator and hose and a chemical tank

this set up looks like what im going for i plan on working part time residential work only ā€¦i have a 4 gallon 4000 psi machine ā€¦i was just curious what you use the small troy bilt for ???
really like your set up

just a spare/break down if i need it, Have had a few problems with down time I also have a 12" cleaner that does pretty good with it.

Hey fatdaddy, what size trailer is that? What does it have for a pay load? This is pretty much what Iā€™m building this spring. If you have the time can you post some more pics.

Sure, itā€™s a 14ā€™ single axels not sure of the loadā€¦

Warms up I will take a few just your topical 14ā€™ā€¦

I have another 14ā€™ single it is a tilt that I pull my mowers and such with

It is OLDER, Fact last year my both axels went out the same timeā€¦ I put some auto grease bearing kit on it. I just neglected not to grease them NOW ever year I will grease ALL OF them I also have a 16ā€™ I pull my tractor with it will get greased

Not every year, 2 or 3 times a week. I keep my wheels covered in grease on my boat and utility trailers. Bearing buddies and a grease gun on rhe trailer always.

Do you think a 10 foot would crowded? What equipment do you have on the trailer?

Yes 10ā€™ to smallā€¦ I will do some measuring tomorrow going to be 50.

Sorry so long getting backā€¦
