Titan hose reel issue

I cannot find a topic on this so I’m reaching out…anyone have an issue with the handles coming off? I have two reels…spent good money on them too. But no matter what once we start reeling the hoses up the handles unscrew themselves from the lever. The black part of the Handle does not spin free and idk if I’m just over thinking this but I’ve even had a couple fresh pairs of eyes look at it and they don’t get it either. TIA for any suggestions

the Black part of the handle is suppose to move free tho. I guess my question is how to get the black part of the handle to spin.

Mine doesn’t spin freely

Man, You will have constant problems. Titan is bottom of the pile when it comes to quality. Sell them and be done with it.

The nut that goes against the inner side of the handle needs to be locking against the nut that holds the handle to the reel. Back off the bolt itself as much as possible. That and loctite.

It’s interesting you say that! I was sold on them as the best reels ever by PWP. And what’s funny is the old reel I had for my 4gpm was a super cheap general reel ($100) and i never once had a problem with it, it still works just fine. These titan reels tho are nothing special besides being aluminum! I’m not impressed what so ever

I’m thinkin about taking the whole handle apart, shaving down a 1/4inch off the plastic so that it’s not so wedged onto the bolt/nut. I’m thinking it will spin free. It makes it really tough to reel when that part doesn’t spin free it’s stupid! I couldn’t believe it when I got them.

You just have to loosen the inside nut and then screw the locking nut in a little. Handle will spin and it won’t come off.

PWP is not a trusted company by most.

Tell me about it… I ordered 6k worth of stuff from them and we had a shipping issue where they delivered my unit upside down. They basically told me I was on my own. I had to pay a Honda dealer to fix my brand new unit because they wouldn’t do anything about it. The way they talked to me was un real. I’d never recommend them. Some guy on fb is talking about a class action lawsuit against them…

Thanks racer I’ll try it out! I’ve been messing with it and no luck yet

At least you got your stuff. Lonnie ordered and paid for thousands of dollars worth of stuff that they never sent. They first claimed they sent it and it must have been stolen after delivery. Then they didn’t send it. lol. They got confused with what they were saying. She offered me discounts if I would retract a statement about them on PWI. When I refused she cussed me like a sailor. Rex appears to be a decent guy however.

Ive had this same issue with my Titan reels. They suck, still spinning for now but for sure will be a future investment coming soon for some worth while reels

yeah the story gets deeper and weirder but I dont want to be known as the guy who bad mouths people. I have found out word travels pretty quick and I wouldn’t want it to get back to future potential business. taking the high road on this one, being the “better/smarter man” lol

I have bought just about everything for them and from pressuretek. I have Nothing but Great things to say about both! Lori and rex are very helpful and lori even went out of the way to go to the shop on the weekend just to process my order for a pressure washer, discounted it for me and hooked my up with a quality wand and gun no extra charge. She customized my package for me and got me what i did and didn’t need so i wasn’t paying for stuff id never use. Good people.

Back off the nut inside the channel 1 1/2 turns, then tighten the outer nut tightly. That will free up the black handle and allow it to spin. Although you may be missing a washer between that outer nut and black handle. The washer will deter any wear of the plastic.

I showed Grizz, who was up helping me the other day, how to fix that problem. 1/2" wrench - took 37 seconds.

Yeap just tighten this bolt

against the other and your set… Dont see why anyone would have a problem with the reel. If your handle isn’t spinning freely then the nut is holding it. If you need to loosen the outer nut and tighten down the nut circled to the outer one. Very simple fix. Racer says 37 second fix(take out finding the wrench and walking back to the nut) it’s a 5 second fix. Worked perfect.
