The Little Trailer that could!

This is how I picture my first trailer build!
I am finishing up my first year washing full time and I’m stuck on whether or not to get a trailer setup.

@SESclean, great looking build and pretty much a dream starter rig for anyone who has done a little bit of reading. I would imagine constructive criticism coming may sound a little harsh but no one could think out every little detail ahead of time , even though it looks like you came as close as anybody could. I thankfully had the foresight when building my rig to measure standard sizes for milk crates, 5 gallon buckets, 30 and 15 gal drums, etc that way I could squeeze things in around buffer tanks and hose reels. But after a year of working I’m ready to pull it all off and start over Haha.

I want to challenge you. Update the post one year from now with the changes to layout and what you learned.

Yes, you should definitely get a trailer lol

I appreciate that very much. A lot of thought really did go into this. I would have loved a bigger trailer with dual axles and did things a bit differently but this is what i can manage right now. Here’s a pic of how it fits in my garage lol. There is hardly any extra room.

Man I might be bookmarking this for ideas later lol. I recently put together my second rig(first i bought from someone else) and was kind of in a time crunch to get it together. When I get ready to do another or maybe in the off season do some upgrades I’ll be referencing this for sure. Good job!

I finished the softwash setup today! I just need to leak check everything but it turns on and sounds great. All i need to do now is clean up the wires and hug them against the inside walls of the box. I cant wait to put this to work

Very clean! How do you keep the battery charging?

If all your ever gonna do is surface an house washing, get a mini trailer, its enough to fit what you need. Well, that does depend on your market. But a small trailer can carry your machine, smallish 100gal tank, a, reel and hose. Should have eough room for buckets and a ladder rack. I’m making small small trailer as I dont do much washing right now. And just want to hook and book.

Watch your ball valves, I cant seem to keep the handle on mine secure, Ill have to loctite it i guess.

I used this and its been working fantastic for me with other things.

A battery tender. Keep it plugged in 24/7 while not in use. I have 1 for each battery

I like that battery box. Where did you get it?

Both my battery box and battery tray are Noco. Bought from Amazon. The box is massive though, its actually the smallest in that style that they had. Its really just over kill and thats why i had to put this heavy duty foam in there to fill the gaps lol. Ill change it to a normal size eventually lol

I would trim that foam and store my emergency jumper in it. I’m going to buy one today

Thats excactly what i did. And i have some spare stuff like ring terminals extra wire incase for whatever reason i may need it on a job. I also keep a little can of Stabil in there too

I went to the hardware store and swapped the nut out with a lock nut.

That’s what im doing this weekend lol. As soon as i backed it into my garage, i looked at it and had an “ah ha” moment lol I’m going to get 4 bolts thats are maybe an inch longer and then just get some wing nuts. I’m also getting camlocks for the pump and hose connections to make swapping out pumps even easier.

I’ve seen where camlocks from buffer to pump are not recommend because you can get small air leaks. Might at least be worth researching before doing it.

No, not from buffer to pump on my high pressure. I meant for the hoses attaching to my 12v pump. Right now i just have barbs screwed into the pump and then hoses clamped to the barbs. But for ease of changing out 12v pumps when they die in the field, i was going to use camlocks instead of barbs

I cleaned up the wires inside my box and also got rid of those junk grommets and just put bulkheads to run the hoses through. Also put wing nuts on the outside.

My wife bought me an early xmas gift of a nice sign to put on the rear gate. Had Sign2Day do it and it came out nice. I should have that finished up this weekend.
