Talking about it! Now its time to deliver

Ahhh so the one you have doesn’t have one - Got ya.

An X-Jet would be the only way to clean it with what you have.

I don’t use one myself, but I’m sure someone on here can help you with setting one up.

You can actually purchase one right off this site.

I use Dawn, water and store-bought bleach straight out of the gallon bottle as a soft-wash solution. The ratio is 1/1 with the bleach and water and 1 oz. Dawn (as per mixing instructions) per gallon of solution. That normally works pretty well. Only thing is, I’m pretty sure I was using 6.25% bleach with that mixture. the concentration of the bleach AGAIN and it’s down to 6.something%. So, using the 6.something% stuff, how much more bleach do I need to use to get the same concentration at least 8 to 10 % stuff in the solution? Or rather, how much less water?
The purpose of this Question is to discuss the concentration of bleach, Sh is not readily available on my Island it needs to be imported.

Do you have any pool supply stores? They will probably have stronger SH.

Dawn is made to remove grease from dishes. It dulls paint and vinyl siding.

I can only find the Powder pool shock, the liquid is very expensive to import so most suppliers stock the powder. but i was doing some research and found this you can use Cal hypo but you need mix a batch and add aluminum sulphate ( flock ) to the mix and wait until it drops and is clear. does anyone know of this?

IBS what would you recommend? I used instead of the Dawn. We don’t have Vinyl sidings house here in the Caribbean.

Can you order from the states?

yes i can order from the states, i can you a freight forward that based in Florida state.

Thanks Very IBS, so giving my currently situation with only the 6.25% Sh concentrate available i can now add the Eliminator instead of the dawn.

I’d kill for that stuff here. Australia is useless for pressure washing chemical suppliers.

You need to increasee the dwell time. The low % of SH isn’t too bad of you can get the solution to stick.

Elemonator increases cling :+1:t2:

So what surfactant you mostly use out there?

Canada isn’t much better believe it or not. Luckily I live about 5 minutes from the border to :us: and have a family friend that lets me ship to her place.

There’s only one softwash chemical supplier I know of, but they sell surfactant and scents only.

Nothing to specifically increase cling/dwell.

The dwell is super important. That’s why household bleach, the thick stuff, works so well - yet has a very low SH content.

I am really glad you said that because I was starting to believe that the bleach I source here would never work, I am of the opinion that if I have access to the 12% Sh it would be better. But for now, I think I can use the 6.25% I get with the help of the Elemonator am I right in saying so?

Elemonator may or may not increase the potency of bleach. @CaCO3Girl Mary can answer that. It will allow for cling time and much easier rinsing. Obviously, if you can get 12.5%, that would be the way to go.

If things were ideal, you’d have the 12.5%.

If you are finding it hard/expensive to get it where you are, then the 6.25% will have to do.

To get the best out of whatever % you use, dwell time is key. So getting it to cling to the surface would be your next step :+1:t2:

I remember reading an older thread where someone said they added a tablespoon or so of the powdered dichloro-s-triazinetrione pool shock to help clean in colder temperatures. I wonder if that could be a way to make a stronger mix for people not able to get the 12.5%? That would be another question for @CaCO3Girl.
