Surface cleaning concrete?

I have Simpson gx390 4200 psi pressure washer and running a 20” BE surface cleaner… my question is do I lower my pressure on pressure washer or change out my tips on my surface cleaner to lower the pressure for concrete work or do I do both? I read charts and different forums and can’t get a direct answer… also if I change my surface cleaner tips which ones do I change them to and how much does it lower my pressure

i would put your green tip on and adjust the unloader to 3000psi. if you do put a pressure gauge on let me know what your green tip PSI was at

You change the pressure by replacing the tips. Each different tip has a different sized orifice. Larger hole, lower pressure, smaller hole, higher pressure. Search up a nozzle chart and you will find what you’re looking for. The pressure will never be adjusted on the washer, only the nozzles. Find you GPM and your desired pressure and that will tell you the size you need

Remember you have two nozzles on your surface cleaner, so your gpm is 2 per nozzle. You want 25025 nozzles for it, that will give you about 2500 psi.

Never adjust the unloader unless you’re setting it.
