Starter kit for beginners!

4gpm downstreaming straight 10.5%. Maybe my injector is bad? If I could do these homes down streaming and not have to use a roof pump it would be much easier on my life lol.

Get a general pump hi draw injector. And make sure your using a good surfactant. Typically I hit the bad spots on second and third story with a 0070 nozzle to help agitated the the algae. I would try a 0035 or 0030 nozzle for your machine . I’m just guessing on that though I have no experience with a 4 gpm unit. But the principal is the same. Hit the bad areas first then continue to clean the rest of the house retreat bad areas again if needed.

I don’t know of any distributors in your area but PWP is in Clearwater and they ship. . I use what they call hang tite for a surfactant. They try to sell a different one but I don’t like it . It spots windows and there tough to get off. You can let the hang tite dry on a house and still rince it without spots

I would fail this test.

Not in the first two years… just mean two years in a row shows that your business is stable. then in my opinion it’s time to get a shop, buy new trucks, better equipment …and it’s not a gamble it’s an investment.

Before that imo it’s a huge gamble

I’ve downstreamed stucco exactly twice. Both were just starting to streak. Every other stucco and EIFS house I’ve had to X jet or 12v. I can’t get them to clean by downstreaming either unless they’re basically already clean.

What % are you applying when you’re down streaming stucco?

So to clarify since I just learned that stucco is not always painted like it is in FL . If it’s painted stucco like found on 99.9 percent of homes in FL I’ll get a tru .05 applied when downsreaming I start with straight SH with one quart of hang tite per 100 gallons . Injector pulls about 20 to 1 .

Awesome thank you for the advice! I’ll order the Injector and try the hang tite. What part of Florida are you located?

I’m told with a 4gpm unit that same mixture will get you closer to 1percent . All my machines are 8.5 gpm with 50’1/2 hose and 200’of 3/8 if I add another 100’ I still get some chem just not nearly as much

I’m based in Tampa but go from Ocala to Venice most weeks

You get .05% and still get the algae off? I’ve got to be doing something wrong.

Agitating it with a 0 degree nozzle help out a lot more than just giving it a quick spray

That isnt enough to take off the paint?

No but you have to be carful with some colors. Dark green dark blue bright red or anything similar. What ever pigments are in them they don’t react well to SH . It really depends on the paint brand but since nobody ever knows I just don’t do them.

Oh I was talking about the 0 degree. I’d figure that would tear up some paint.

Low pressure o degree basically a zero degree soap nozzle won’t hurt anything

Ohhh ok I understand

I started with a smaller machine, and no it wasn’t ideal but it worked. However, I did upgrade after a couple of months and very glad I did. I’m running a 5.5 now and its a huge difference. The link that @JayDavis provided above is a pretty good list of what you should consider starting out. I wish I had a list like that when I started to go by. It seems simple and like it doesn’t take much, but when you start out you will realize very quickly that you need more stuff. It just kind of happens and snowballs! Anyway, Jay’s list would be a great starting point to look at as far as what your needing to start. I understand wanting to keep your investment as small as possible until you really see if this is something your wanting to do, and your machine will definitely provide that. Although smaller, it will definitely work. I was advised by some very wise guys on here to keep 2 of everything. Things are going to happen and things are going to fail. Having that back up is going to keep you going but that just adds more expenses on the front end. So keep that in mind as well.

@florida_condo_cleani the first 50 feet of hose on your reel is 1/2… is that something you really only need to do at 8+gpm ? Or is that a good method for anything over 200 feet of hose length ?
