Squid/Newbie

Hey PWRA community,

I have been a ninja for the past 6 months sneaking in to check out your post and stealing all the valuable info. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. All these late night hours spent researching reading and learning are close to an end. Check out the trailer build let me know what you think. I am still going to purchase a water reclamation system and finish the build on my custom ladder/wand/tool rack. My end goal is to build a self sustained business that works all year round. Let me know what you think so far or if you have any question shoot.

Welcome. Why is Squid in the title? Lol

Also, I’d probably put a rush on a proper ladder rack. That one is gonna rot and vibrate your ladder off and you’ll be outta business before you ever really get going. You could probably get a local weld shop to build you one in an afternoon for under $300-$400.

Cut the tailgate off even with the height if the side if the trailer. Don’t leave the driveway with that ladder rack. Good luck. You have a nice trailer and machine

Nice set-up! It looks like you could just set that ladder on the inside of the trailer along a side rail for now.

I promise the ladder rack is not complete or ready for the road.

He was probably in the Navy. Aren’t you all called Squids? I was in the Army and we had a different name for you’all, but I digress…

A wooden ladder rack will NOT hold up to hwy speeds. The wind coming through the rungs of that ladder will tear it apart and get someone killed. Even a single side mount rack that Home Depot sells for around $98. Bolted to the floor and side rails would be better than that. There’s some things you don’t take chances with.

This is why I love the forum sometimes cutting corners is just not an option. And yes safety is always #1 Ill stop the build and get a proper rack asap!

Trailer looks nice, did anyone mention the ladder rack?
Ok, I’ll do it. Ladder rack, all the awesomeness of the trailer is lost because of the ladder rack…ladder rack.

Welcome to the forums.

Why are the hose reels and vice on the street side of the trailer?

When he gets tired of the reel in a few days I’m sure he’ll move the new one to the back

Welcome and the trailer looks good. Other than the already pointed out things. But not a hard fix. Looks like you have already done the hard part and purchased the expensive stuff. I agree with moving the reels to curbside also. Will make like way easier.

Nice rig you have there @Supermario512 !! I am just getting started also. I think I am running the same reels as you. I use the pressure reel just to hold the hose as @Innocentbystander suggested. I do have the supply reel plumbed though. I picked up a nice ladder rack on amazon for pretty cheap. I will post the link later. Good luck with everything.
