Soft wash hose

@DJPWS nice! I’ve used that Kuritech every day for the last two years with no issues at all.

Anyone else use the Flexilla hose for softwashing? I’ve only got room for a 12" reel. I think I’ll only have room for 200’ of 1/2 hose if I go the Kuritec route, but could maybe bump up to 5/8 if I go with Flexilla.

I use 200 ft of flexzilla 1/2” air hose on a 12” Hannay electric reel. It could probably hold 225-250ft.

I use the 1/2" Flexzilla air hose for soft wash hose. Works great. It is thick though so I would imagine you’d get less of it on a reel than you would Kuritec but I’ve never compared them side by side.

Got it. Yea, I was wondering about going up to 5/8 flexilla for the soft wash system. I use it for my water supply hose and it flattens out some on the reel so I can get a bit more on. But then maybe the flattening aspect of it will offset any benefit of the increase in ID

5/8" is really not necessary unless you’re running really long lengths of hose like 300+ feet or you’re running higher volume systems like a 10gpm or higher. Also, the 1/2" air hose does not lay down flat on the reel in my experience. Unless stored for a while then I’m sure it will but with regular use it doesn’t lay down like the 5/8" garden hose. The air hose seems like it has a thicker jacket.

That’s helpful, appreciate hearing your experience!

No problem :+1:

What size is your 12v pump? Typically 1/2" is all you want. 5/8" will hurt your performance over a longer hose and you especially don’t want to use a hose that collapses.

Im running the 7 gpm Devalan. Just wanting to make sure I’m getting as much distance as reasonably possible. That makes sense that the collapsible would be a bad idea. I wasn’t sure if 5/8 hose would help my distance any on that pump or not.

Yes, with longer lengths, there’s more volume with the 5/8 that a low powered pump has to push. When I tested I got about 7-8’ less distance w/ the 5/8. But you can test it for yourself.

I tried it with both. Got to realize, coming out of the pump you’ve only got about 4 gal of flow with either one. Reason I’ve gone to 5gpm on most my 12v because they shoot just as far.! If you’ve got your pressure set at 80psi that’s all you have

I noticed, and was going to ask about that. Very interesting

Length of hose makes a difference too, with my setup 200 ft is most efficient, could go 225 at best wouldn’t hurt a lot on distance. Just seems 200’ or under works best on 12v. Just from my past experience.

You’re right. On my bleach pump, I only have 25’ of hose and it shoots like crazy. Unfortunately I need to run 250+ on my softwash and sometimes that’s barely enough.

The other thing that everyone needs to remember, especially if it’s hilly like where @Atlas1 and I live is that head resistance on a 12v can be a killer. At least 50% of the time, the house may be uphill from street and then if you’re up 30’ on a ladder, that can seriously effect the performance. That was the final straw that made me go get a gas system. Was about 30’ above street and had a 32’ ladder maxxed out and my 12v would only shoot about 20-25’

How does mixing work with the gas? It works just like a pressure washing pump correct? When you’re off the trigger it bypasses back into the tank. If so how do you keep your soap from foaming up everywhere?

piped to bottom of tank

45-50

Why do you like gas more than air diaphragm? Simplicity?

no, it just shoots further
