Sodium Percarbonate instead of SH

Hey, glad that works for you. I’m referring to the rubber seals and angle pieces that sit in the SH tank. You have a link to that?

You specifically said plastic, that’s why I made my post. For me SH only touches plastic or stainless, so I’ve never had it damage anything.

well, that is where you make sure that your seals and gaskets are rated for SH. Not all seals and gaskets are rated for chemicals, wether that be SH or agricultural chemicals. Some tank manufacturers will list that they have the correct seals for your product. Viton is a popular name, but PTFE gaskets are generally resistant to corrosive chemicals, most metals are not but alloy c is and titanium encapsulated items are also good for around SH. If you ever do something other than washing, you might learn that tank seals and gaskets are important to farmers too. If you really want to see corrosive chemicals in action, go to a farm. Fertilizer destroys metals. Also salt in general destroys metal, as witnessed on the undercarriage of all northern cars.

Not all plastics are the same, plastic is a very generic term.

Lol, you have done nothing but lie. Black doesn’t degrade plastic or equipment. Heck, bleach doesn’t either for that matter unless you’re just stupid with it. SP is way more expensive to use. You’ve done nothing but lie. But that’s ok. You won’t tell us who you are so you have anonymity to hide behind. I’m repeating info on Doug’s experience from the old pwi forum. If he said it wasn’t SP, then he’s probably right. He’s a straight shooter from what I’ve seen on the forums. I don’t like his washing methods, but that has nothing to do with anything important. If it wasn’t SP, I was wrong. That happens occasionally. If he had used bleach he would never have had the issue though. I still think you’re Greg Tatum

To be fair, your issues with @Innocentbystander aside, @Racer very calmly and factually explained the fallacy in your point/error in your math, and he even supports using SP. I can’t see what your angle/agenda is with all this nonsense, but the math is pretty clear. Racer is about as calm and factual as it gets, and always on his details, so I doubt there is an error in his numbers.

You just joined the forum, haven’t introduced yourself, posted in another single thread, etc. At the beginning you didn’t even know how to mix the stuff, now you claim to be saving enough every week on this alone to take a vacation?

:troll: I know one when they come out from under the bridge, so I’ll just get some popcorn and watch the crap-show…

Indeed! Tough for things to heal at that age, but hips can end your walking straight days pretty quickly. My mom has needed one replaced for years, she just won’t do it.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

You shouldn’t have rubber seals and angles, whatever they are, in your SH tank. That’s what dip tubes are for. I use pvc. And you’re right. The plastic is destroyed by the bleach. I have to replace them every 6 or 7 years. Fortunately three ft of half inch PVC is only a buck or two

Goodness! Sorry to hear about your mom taking a spill William! I think Racer is right. It’ll be a fairly long recovery so she’ll need your help along the way

Good thing is three of us kids live within 45 minutes of mom and dad. One’s in Texas, but you know how unreliable those Texans can be lol

Sorry to hear about the fall! But I’m glad to hear you still have her in your life. I’m grateful every day I had my mom as long as I did. Every moment is a bonus.

gosh, that is a tough one. I am always telling my mom not to walk across the field to the house, I’m afraid that she will fall in the field and I won’t notice.
