Should I buy this plumbing kit?

Or would it be better to purchase each component separately? I was just about to place an order when I found this diagram saying to use 1.5" suction hose for 8gpm. I couldn’t find 1.5" hose on PT.

1” hose is definitely sufficient, even though PWP claims it’s not. @Racer posted this chart a while back and it shows the flow you can get…

by the time you research everything, and what not, and purchase everything seperately, consider the end cost.
With the hose, filter, hose barb, clamps, etc, it all adds up.
I found that the 1.5 input hose for my 8gpm machine was definately supplied all that was required.
Are you in it for the long haul? Some folks have figured it out for you. I tried the I know what to get route, and ended up realizing they saved in the long run

The kit not a bad idea if you’re not sure. They just got on 1.5 inch hose kick about a year or so ago. The 1 inch is more than enough which you can get with the kit. If I had a 10+gpm machine would go with the larger maybe.

I’ve purchased the 3-6 gpm kit to use with my 5.6 gpm machine and I must say that it saves a great deal of time and brainpower. I don’t regret the purchase

I stopped going through check valves every 500 hours once I switch to 1.5 .more is always better when feeding the pump. For a few bucks different why not.

@Harold. I have to 100% agree with @mark44 and @bulletproof

@chris did a podcast with Josh Latimer couple years ago. He made a great point that we cannot be experts on everything. Thus, paying someone for their expertise is more cost effective in many cases.

Therefore, i say buy the kit, at least for the first time. I just plumbed my first buffer tank and it was very time consuming. Second time around will be easier.

Thank you all. I will be buying the kit per everyone’s advice. I just ordered the hudson float and install kit, reels, etc from PT. Now I’ll order this kit from pressure washing products.

Harold if u don’t have a heat gun go to harbor freight and get one there cheap. It will make setting up ur trailer a breeze. If u go with a tote don’t use the junk ball valve that comes on it. The handle will get out of line with the ball valve and not open properly and burn ur pump up before you know it!!!

Don’t know how u plan on plumbing it? But install a ball valve before the filter so u can keep ur pump prime if u drain the tank !! And u can install a t on the washer side of that ball valve with a 3/4 ball valve to winterize ur machine.

I do have a heat gun, but I’m not sure what it’s use will be while plumbing? I’ll be searching thru several threads and YouTube videos with a few days. I have about 2 weeks before everything arrives.

Heat the hose ends makes putting barbs and fitting on much easier. You ca also use it to relax the hose and make bending the hose around things easier especially when dealing with big hoses like 1.5

Keep in mind that she has been banned from multiple forums, Has lied, screamed and cussed at customers and this forum is hosted by PWRA, which sells everything you need as well. Be wary who you support in this industry. Many have tried to destroy it for $ and others are just idiots.

Who else sells the kit?

The kit is just a box of stuff you may or may not need and hoses that may or may not be long enough. You will save money and headache ordering what you need exactly or just running up to your local vendor or farm supply store.

There aren’t any farm suppliers in New Orleans. And I’m not entirely sure what I need to order. Thus the kit. I still have some reasearch to do but thanks for the info

It’s easy to plumb should take around 45 minutes and will not cost that munch lol!! Will snap u some pics this evening of how I did mine!!

This is how I plum my water inlet for my tank. Might as well go ahead a grab the stuff if ur ordering. Make sure and go with 1 in filter can go longer before cleaning out filter . Don’t install a 3/4 filter!!

I was planning in installing the 1 1/2” filter

I know some say 1” is plenty and they are more then like 100% correct but seeing that I’m starting from scratch my gut says go bigger just Incase. It certainly won’t hurt
