SH tank bulkhead fitting

@DisplacedTexan @JAtkinson thanks guys! Good info. I used to feed through the bottom but I like the idea of coming through the top better. I’ll just keep a couple gallons of SH on hand for pump sprayers.

We fill sprayers from the 12v hose…honestly if it ever becomes a leak issue, I’ll just replace the tank, they aren’t that expensive, but it was built in before I took it over, so I haven’t seen the need to change the tank out yet, lol

Damn! I plugged the bottom of my SH tank with silicone grease and then realized I can’t pull SH from the top because I don’t have a proportioner to mix my soap in. Damn it!

I’d you are ds’ing, just mix your soap with the SH. I’d you aren’t ds’ing, u should be.

Yes I ds but my Chem tank is 35 gallons. I normally ds out of a 5 gallon bucket.

If you have 35 gallon tank, why use a bucket?

I’ve always been worried about how long surfactant can stay mixed in SH before going bad. Also my bypass stopped working so I had to move my injector to the power washer. With that said, I do t like the idea of having to pull my dip stick out of the tank when I need to rinse. Don’t want to get SH all over my trailer every time.

My my ds tanks are 45 gallon minimum and some are 100. I’ve never had an I issue. A plastic the way ball valve will eliminate pulling dip sticks. I’d quit washing of I had to do that more than once

I don’t know if it was you or who it was that told me to do that a couple of years ago. Sure I have to walk back to the trailer and turn the knob because I don’t have a remote, but it beats the snot out of pulling that dropstick all the time. I have to buy several 3 ways at a time, they seem to break easily. At least they were cheap.

Ok now I need a pic of that setup lol

me too

I’m using the same 2 way on / off poly ball valves from 2 years ago. It can pull straight water, straight SH or anything in between. I’ve eliminated the bottom ball valve as it isn’t needed. Both valves wide open will pull 2 parts water & one part SH. Add in a little dwell time & a milder solution will go a long way. I used 5 gallons total today, 2 2 story vinyl houses & a composite deck. Injectors last a lot longer when you’re downstreaming water during the rinse cycle. It’s changed up a bit since this old photo but same basic configuration.

Good stuff! I always wondered, are the 3 way valves both on or both off when in the middle?

Almost. Them still pull a little bit from both sides sometimes though. I have it on soap or water though.

Good to know! I ended up moving the Tee so the 90 was on the water side to have the shortest, straightest flow to the injector from the SH side. The inline check valve was necessary to keep SH from back siphoning into the buffer tank. It works well & I’m a huge fan of simplicity.

That’s a hot mess

As usual, you’re the man thanks!

I am so jealous of your lead flow. I hope to attain 10 percent of the business you pull in someday. I channeled my inner IBS on two absolute nightmare estimates today and threw a number at them high enough to either scare them away, or make it worth me actually having to do them. It’s good to have goals :joy:

Makes me wonder if I could use one of those 3 ways to flush my proportioner out instead of making another hole in my water tank.
