I have a bleach tank with a bulkhead and it leaked. I changed the bulkhead to a Banjo and use silicone grease. It hasn’t leaked since I applied this fix 3 - 4 years ago.

Leaking Bulkhead

I’ve installed about 100 bulkhead fittings in water tanks for fountains. They need a silicone grease/ O ring grease applied to the gaskets before they are tightened. About 10% of them will leak if you don’t put the grease on them. Do not use standard silicone. It will work for a short period of time then start leaking after a few weeks once the standard silicone dries and movement breaks the seal.
