See I would have done that and had the cops waiting on the guy to pick up the money.

hes going to give u an amount that will go through, but then it will bounce and he would have stolen 4k from you when you withdraw that money from your account

they likely have a stolen card number from grandma somewhere and they know if they try to run it through the overseas system it will not work. So they get guys like me to pull money off the card and give cash. And @beallcameron is correct. Once the card issuer sees the charge they can dispute it and the money goes back to the card and you are left with the bill.

This scam has been going on for years. Get at least one every other week. Don’t feel too special, lol.

I got this same message today and warned all the companies around me.
Put something for sale on Craigslist and you will get 20 of them.
Just a regular thing.
I get them all the time on my other business.
Just tell them you have square and they will ram away
At first I thought the scam was a $180 house wash… just messing

Some are lucky to live in the rich state of Michigan! Lol I stay busier than I’d like to be and our two story is $250. I do about three 2 stories to every 1 single story. I can do a singe in an hour and two story in 1.5 so we’re above our $100 hr mark.
Your not puting Michigan water on peoples houses are you…that’s dangerous!

I had a local competitor (kinda) submit a quote request on my website today. When Ingoogled the address it came up with the business name everywhere. I’m still kind of confused…
Should I go with a $89 quote or $525?
