Rocking a WW Mondo

I just sold two brand new Whisper Wash Maxima 36 in that I acquired when I bought a guy out. One guy had a 5.5 gpm so I told him to go with a 16 in or 19 in. He said he already had a 24 and wanted a bigger one. So he bought it and another guy with a 5.5 gpm bought the other one. Called today and asked if I had anymore to sell his buddy want one. Said it worked great with his machine. :open_mouth: I must be missing something.

Nice video, @Racer

How does the Mondo do with cold water?
Also, how would you compare its performance vs a Maxima? I’m planning on getting a larger SC this year, but I’m still undecided between a Maxima, Big Guy, or Ground Force (Leaning mostly toward a Maxima right now).

I don’t do any commercial, but I’d like to be able to cut my time on large driveways and such.

Have never tried the Maxima. Thought about getting one a couple of times, but keep seeing almost new ones for sale. Doesn’t seem like people like that much after they get them. Go with a big guy. Can order it with the 4 wheels now too instead of the 2 large ones, but where you are, the original may be best. Know you have some hilly drives. The 4 wheel ones will roll away in a heartbeat.

LOL I’ve watched this video like six times since you posted it… I want one!!!
Bigger better faster more!

Good to know, and thanks for the insight, Rick. The hills are definitely a factor to consider.

Reason I like my 24" floater. When I stop they stop.I have one of those NT 32" ones and it cleans really well, but with all swivel wheels you let go of it and it takes off. Have to drag it over and make sure at least one wheel in the grass so it won’t roll everytime you stop.

Hmm must be some way to add a qr brake? :flushed:

I tried the 36 in Maxima the two I had we’re both 2 nozzle. I didn’t like them had to walk to slow or go back over it again . I love my 24 ground force on big open areas and it’s not bad on walkways once u get use to it. But most of the time I pulling out the 19 in extreme it’s my favorite. JMO The 36 was to bulky and if a wheel fell off the curb u had to stop to get it back on because it’s heavy. The ground force is light enough u don’t have that problem.

I’ve really enjoyed my ground force. I traded my little big Guy for it and a hundred feet of legacy hose. It had only been used a couple of times and had been sitting in a storage room. As long as you have 3 wheels on the sidewalk it does good. With 8gpm it’s fast and has very little splashing. With the little big Guy gravel would fly out from under the skirt that’s not an issue with the ground force for some reason

It seems like with 2 nozzle bars once you get above 28 it loses it’s effectiveness. The 36" is a lot of ground to cover before nozzle comes back around each time. The 32" NT one has a 3 bar, like some mosmatics, and it cleaned good.

The mondo is basically just 2 Ground Forces put together.

Good info guys, Thank you!

I really do want a large SC for large areas…I love my Classic, but it takes forever to do a large driveway with it. @Racer your statement about the Mondo being two Ground Forces put together makes sense. Does it clean reasonably well with cold water at 8gpm? I always pre- and post-treat my driveways, and most of my clients do driveways before they’re very bad.

It cleans fine. It’s a big machine though, weighs about 55 lbs I think. I do a lot of big drives and I would rarely use on a drive, just because it’s kind of a pain to carry it. Too big for stoops and sidewalks, so you’d still have to carry classic for those.

That makes sense…are you using 2-nozzle bars on it, or did you put 4-nozzle bars on instead?

No, just 2 nozzles per bar. Wouldn’t have enough volume with 8 nozzles. Comes with 2502.5s I believe.

Good to know…Thank you!

If you’re coming from a classic, I’d just go with the Aqua pro or ground force. With the Aqua Pro, it won’t work with anything less than 8gpm though because it’s a floater. But I absolutely love mine. If you want to try it out, come get my spare and use it for a week. It’s brand new but only has the 2 nozzle bar on it I think.

Thanks for the offer, Rick…I really appreciate that! Let me give it some thought and I’ll let you know…My biggest hesitation is only stepping up by a few inches. If I’m going to spend the money, I want it to make a big difference in my cleaning time. My thought is to use the Classic for edging and sidewalks, and the Mondo for the larger areas. Plus, I don’t touch any commercial right now, but I want to be equipped for it in case some tempting commercial flat work comes my way.

A lot of pure commercial guys use the Big Guy unless they’re doing really big jobs.

I’m trying to find a used big guy now for bigger jobs.
