Rinsing issue

If you live in an area where the windows are flat and easily accessible, DI would make sense, as long as the customer understands not everything will come off.

Most are around here, at least in the nicer houses. 3 floors of bay windows and sunrooms on the back.

I have two crews out doing the work. 2 men per truck. I sometimes go out and wash but mostly I run the business. It was the best move i made. It allowed me to double my business the following yr which was 2012. We have grown anywhere to 15-30% every year after.

You can get a basic wfp system complete w 30 ft pole for about $825.

Btw, anyone who would pull a 5x8 trailer with a Sienna will never make it in this business. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

If your house wash mix is working correctly, you’ll be surprised at how clean the windows come out with just a power wash followed by a quick scrub and rinse with the wfp.

I’m a perfectionist, and I can’t remember the last time I had to do a touchup on a combo pw/wc job, and that’s including those where I did interior windows afterwards, as well.

Agreed. Hw/wfp combo really does turn out a nice window. If you don’t have a wfp already, get one ASAP. I cleaned windows nose to glass perched on top of a long ladder for years and now I couldn’t imagine life without a WFP. If I had to give it up I’d also give up window cleaning. It makes that much of a difference.

WFP would never fly here. We have silicone, artillery fungus, bird strike prints, screen deposits etc. I couldn’t fathom just scrubbing and rinsing from the ground, I’ve been called many times to ‘fix’ what the WFP window cleaners left behind.

It may work in other parts of the country, but not here.

Where are you located? WFP is not the solution 100% of the time but I deal with many of the same issues and it will take off most. Silicone obviously has to come off nose to glass but you should only have to ladder up once to remove all that then can wfp the next time. A bronze wool pad along with a hybrid brush will get rid of the other stuff. Like with anything, operator error can leave $h!t results but WFP has been an invaluable tool for me and many others.

Louisville, one part of town can be 100 year old houses, the next will be the McMansions. Rarely do I see any glass that a WFP would work. Don’t get me wrong, it would be nice, but alas.

Exactly what I did, and I have no regrets doing awesome ! Learned everything I know on this form, I can never thank you all so much
