Aww heck. He’ll figure it out. I think @Innocentbystander needs to hang his wand up and sell all his plunder and sit back with a Giant sweet tea, spam and captain waffer crackers in front of a computer, nope. 3 computers and charge a $1 for answering pw questions all day. We’d all be better off and you’ll make Trump money.
The mold in that picture is not dead.
Your mix isn’t strong enough .
…
I’d have to keep working if I earned a dollar that was any way associated with Trump. But I agree on everything else.
Yeah, I just wasn’t up to dragging out the machine and hoses again, it was down a hill and around back. I’ve been a window cleaner for 23 years, no stranger to ladders and Dirtex.
BTW, ‘rinsing windows’ is a SIN in my world. One does not simply spray tap water on windows and get away with it. If you said ‘deionized’ I might have given you a pass.
You dedicated PW guys crack me up, I mention 28’ ladder and everyone flips out.
@dcbrock…you have 4 days of reading time on this forum. I’m in disbelief that you would even consider doing such a thing. Saying you did it to save time just doesn’t make any sense. You need to find a way to set up your trailer so you don’t have to pull out your PW. Buy 2 hose reels and ditch that buffer tank because you don’t need it. Build some shelves and get creative with the space you have. If you have enough room to store it, you have enough room to keep it in there while you use it. Your mix not being strong enough today should have been a no brainer for you. I’m really not trying to be rude, I just feel you should know better by now.
And if you’re that stuck on not thinking you have enough room, post a picture of the current set up. I’m positive you’ll get some good advice from the guys on here on how to set it up.
The Facebook page is an absolute train wreck compared to this, but I know you’ve already seen that.
The whole post got deleted
Disbelief…how? I already had my 28’ on the side of the house, took me 10 minutes.
You gotta understand, PW isn’t my ‘full time’ job, it’s an add-on. I’m not about to blow thousands of dollars on a little 5x8 enclosed trailer pulled by my Sienna.
The customer just wanted one panel of his house done, I accomplished that…the second time.
Thanks to all for the advice, I just needed a stronger mix is all.
BTW Max, I absolutely need a buffer tank. I can’t tell you how many houses around here only put out about 2-3gpm.
Your 5x8 should be big enough to add in a couple reels and leave your PW in one place. You can get cheap hose reels. No need to blow thousands
It could be done I suppose, maybe once I figure out if this trailer is a permanent fixture. It’s just so small!
C’mon man, us window cleaners are supposed to be the smart ones
@Jordie has thousands into his trailer that he pulls behind a sienna. He’s still primarily a window cleaner, as far as I know.
I had thousands in my trailer I pulled behind an xB, and I’m primarily a window cleaner.
Doesn’t have to be tens of thousands to be a workable, efficient rig. You can use cheap reels, craigslist plastic drums for chems, etc.
Nothing is permanent. Not in this field. A year from now you could be looking at buying a truck. But a $2,500 trailer setup may be just the thing to get you to that point.
I about doubled my income for April over last year (my previous record for April). No small feat for someone who’s been in business for 13 years. And it was thanks to power washing (the weather has been unseasonably warm, too)
I’ll get there eventually. Consider this my ‘Phase 2’. You guys are more around Phase 6.
Thousands is relative… an old pressure washer buddy once said buy something you can’t afford and you’ll figure out a way to pay for it. Truer words have never been spoken!
Wow. I couldn’t imagine just offering one or two services. In all seriousness if you added full time power washing/ soft washing along with the window cleaning you should be grossing 2-300 thousand a yr. I only do outside windows with deionized water on house washes and my average ticket for that is 600. We are in and out within 2 hrs. One crew does 4-6 jobs a day.
Also that algae was not dead. Your mix was definitely too weak.
There’s no way you could use deionized on these houses.
And what is this ‘crew’ you speak of?
I’m seriously considering offering exterior only window cleaning, and only with a house wash. I do a lot of higher end homes that have more windows than siding, and would probably have no problem upselling windows. With a driveway and back patio wash, I already average around $800, give or take $150. TDS is very low around here too, so just a DI tank would be enough.
Think he means di for the windows.
