What the heck does he use this for? Chemical application on decks or something?

Small to mid-size driveways, decks, etc.

It’s amazing. It has saved me so many times from pulling out the 12v. So many.

If I had to buy a new one every 6 months, I’d do it for sure.

Joke or not, I wonder how that siphon tube would do choking down a 5 gallon bucket of sealer. Do yoou know if there are other tips or replacement parts available? Assuming you already have the batteries, it would be comparable in price to building a bucket lid sprayer… though some customers may question a “professional” rolling up with a DIY marketed brand… but if it works why not?

Is it more of a pain to unroll a hose for 12v than pull that out and drag a bucket, and then rinse it afterwards I’d assume? I’ll have to YouTube this thing to see it in action

Battery and charger sold separately

There’s always a hook.

Quick and easy. And you don’t have 200ft of chem in your line which is a few gallons.

And I rinse my 12v after each use so I’m rinsing either way.

But it might not be for everyone.

That’s pretty common for all cordless tools except for drills. They assume you’ve bought into their eco-system.

And I have. I’m using their Ryobi house kit as well as their transfer pump. Half inch line from it to a cam lock in the 55gal sh tank. Suck up a gallon of water afterwards so I’m not spilling sh all over inside of truck and bingo bango!

Question though. How are you getting it into a 5 gal bucket? Are you sucking it up and then shooting into a bucket, to then re suck and shoot from bucket onto deck?

I use it anytime I need a relative small amount of a stronger mix. Fills the void between a pump up and a 12v. I use it mainly for applying a strong version of degreaser for like dumpster pads, or jobs where you need more than a pump up full of anything. It seems impervious to any chemical I’ve used in it. Acids on drives for mud removal, strong SH mixes for large stoops or say around the foundation of shady homes, whatever. Perfect for ox on smaller decks or fences. I just usually dump the whole coil of hose into bucket and carry bucket. Do I use every day, no. But probably at least once every 10 days or so. When I’m done with it, drop hose in 2-3 gallons of water and run a gal or 2 of water thru it. Just one of those handy tools to have that is pretty cheap, especially if you’re part of Ryobi eco-system.

@Dallsheep, I always have a couple 5 gallon carboys on my trailer so I can make my pump-up mix be as strong or as weak as I want. So I do the same here using an empty 5 gallon bucket.

@Anton_C_K, as for looking professional…when I pull-up and the customer sees my equipment, sees me and then meets me, I’m sure the majority realize they are dealing with a professional who knows what he’s doing.

No doubt, I see comments on here all the time telling people to return their big box store brand pressure washers and surface cleaners so that they look “professional” when going to clients homes… stigmas are hard to break, but like I said if it works it works. I would probably pick this up to use for sealing, but I’m not in their ecosystem so it doesn’t make sense economically for me.

Go on slickdeals and read about the ryobi homie depo hacks. You can get those 4ah batteries pretty cheap sometimes/or the tool. Their batteries are pretty good. I got their oscillating tool along with the racer tool as part of a bargain deal a couple of years ago, I don’t know if the oscillator is any good, but that triangular sander head has gotten in some nice tight places several times. Some sites sell blemished ryobi tools. (probably HD hack returns). If interested I think you could nab the deal for under $120, I just don’t think the spray tip would be good for sealing, but I haven’t done that in long time

Unfortunately I am deeply into the metabo - was hitachi - ecosystem that seems like no one will carry soon. Hitachi made some nice tools.

I don’t think the majority of those comments are about being professional in terms of the look of the machine but rather in terms of the actual machine’s performance, durability and adaptability.

The direct drive from Home Depot is designed for occasional use by a homeowner and can’t (usually) be fitted to a buffer tank. We discourage that purchase for those reasons (and it usually has at most 4 gpm which is minimum standard for what we do.)

That said, I agree that professional all the way around is important.

I use it for sodium percarbonate on decks and then citric/ox. Smaller decks/pads. I mix it in the fiver drop the tube and start applying. I would say, that I used it when i needed more than the 2 gallons in my pump up, but less than the 25 gallons for my 12v tank.

I’m far to invested in other brands as well to think about switching at this point… but there are a couple brick and mortar stores around me that sell “certified” refurbished ryobi, dewalt, and ridgid tools for 50%+ off.

I did the DIY 5 gallon bucket lid set up to run off my 18v batteries for sealing that has worked well. If/when that pump goes I may look into alternatives, but if this doesn’t have a fan tip option probably not worth it.

What type of sealer?

I think it’d be too much flow for most sealers.

And definitely wouldn’t work with thicker sealers.

And, correct, there is no fan tip.

I seem to be getting a lot more “I’ve got a pressure washer in my garage” type of run in’s lately… no need to give them more ammunition.
