@TexasPressureWashing I am starting to work my way down your beginner equipment list so by the time the season comes I am ready to go. I see you have two hose reels, one 12" and one 18". I assumed one would be for pressure hose and one would be for regular hose. After ordering I realized they are both for pressure hose. Do you not use a reel for your regular hose?
I use 12” reels for pressure hose and soft wash hose and the 18” for my water hose. You can get by with a 12” but only if you use 100ft or so I’d 3/4”. It might hold 150’

Ok thanks. I am going to use the 18" I have for pressure hose and buy a liberty 709 for my garden hose. Do you have any good videos or posts on the plumbing? I am having trouble finding something clear. The hannay reel has 1/2 inch outlets and the pressure house has 3/8. Obviously need an adaptor, should probably be stainless steal if I am running bleach through reel? Also the intake side, how should that be plumbed? Is there a shorter hose that is recommended to carry the water from the injector to the reel?

I used a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter stainless steel rated for 5000 PSI

I think that would be a pretty good idea. Maybe not a mandatory test but an optional test It would Atleast give you and the person taking it a baseline of there knowledge. It also would let beginners know that there’s a lot more to this industry then what meets the eyes. Can show improvement areas etc. just my 2 cents
Not sure what thread to ask this, but I’m in a bit of a bind. Ive made tons of calls and done research on it before asking the question but it’s still not super clear whats happening.
I upgraded my unit to a 5gpm this past weekend, pulled up to the first job with it and the soap injector isn’t wanting to pull soap past 50’ of hose. Luckily I haven’t mounted it to anything yet so I wheeled it around and pumped my mix into a bucket to move it with the unit ( bit of a challenge with my knee) .
Ive been told to switch to a smaller size injector. The one I used for the first job is a 2.1mm, but Pressure tek recommended a 2.1mm for a 3-5gpm. I usually use around 150 - 200 feet of hose so I don’t have to move the truck much. Ive tried my 10gpm wand, and all the hose without the wand but still nothing.
What should be my next step
Pull the soap tube off the barb of the injector. Put your finger to it with the machine running and the trigger pulled. Any suction when you’re spraying? If not, carefully poke into the barb to see if the ball is stuck.
If that yields nothing, swap out the injector for a spare. They quit working every so often.

It does, but only with either no hose, or 50’ of it. I bought a 2.1mm spare from northern a day or so ago with the same results. should I just go down one more size?
Yeah, if you’re getting the exact same results from a brand new injector, then go down one size. I mostly use 1.8mm injectors with my 5.5 gpm machine.
